Conversion kit problems

My wife had her bike converted to pedal assist with a front hub motor and battery pack on the rear rack. The propulsion is fine but we have concerns with the battery. First the battery plate is 'secured' to the rack with cable ties. Secondly the battery is too big for the rack, overhanging by a few inches. Thirdly, rather than sitting in a double rack, the battery sits on top of a single rack. We would appreciate advice whether our concerns are justified and what is the correct way to install this setup.

your concern is justified. Spend £30 on a double rack that is made for your battery.

Thanks for that. With a double rack, should the battery plate be bolted to the rack or are cable ties 0k?

If you paid someone to fit it cable tying the battery is just so wrong.
Even self build you should bolt it for safety and security once it's in the right place.
