Hi, i'm thinking about buying a conversion kit. i was wondering how hard is it to connect the controller to the battery, is it straight forward? a matter of just connecting the black and red wires?

Or will it involved a bit of tinkering?

If you buy the whole kit from one supplier, everything should plug together, but if you use a different supplier for the battery, you'll have to do something to connect the wires, which normally means soldering a connector to both the battery and controller.

ok, i've seen somebody put it together with these two circle mental ends then clamped together in a yellow case..

like in this video - at 1:26 mark.

Can it be done like this, without soldering?

What is the name of the ends/case?

If one is going to change tires and wheels on a bicycle, one should have some bicycle skills. If one is going to mount a motor and battery on that bike, soldering skills are advised.

Soldering is an easy skill to learn. The cost of the tool is trivial compared to the cost of a kit.. The alternative is to spend a little more money for a crimp tool and connector kit.
