Which type of motors are your referring to? My geared 500w 8fun motor is noisy and suppose it is a high powered type motor when running at full power do normally get hot to touch. Trex, remember that you are dealing with a novice here.

if I remember rightly, you've got the Life Cycle Sport 500W and we were playing a little guessing game some weeks back? I have no experience of it but if it worries you, you should check with Life Cycle. I never had a motor dying on me. I did replace a clutch unit on an 8-Fun before, a little pig of a job, won't want to do this again. All my motors are never too hot to touch even after a long run and the noise from the motor never attracted any attention.

Yes Trex, you are correct about the bike I ride but I am not too sure about the little guessing games though. My warranty has ran out now and if I was to take it to them it is always good practice to be a few steps ahead. It's not been a problem of such really, because it has been noisy since the day I bought it. Most likely it is that geared type of motor or maybe I need to hear the type of noise that you are talking about. Like us all we hate to hear our bikes running noisily , sweeky or ticking away.
Anyway thanks for that advice.

motors are generally quite reliable. If the noise was more or less the same over the last year, then it should remain so, I would not worry about it. I sealed my motor cable with silicon flexible sealant to make sure that water does not get inside.
