Help! Confused new member

Hi quick question please when peddling motor kicks in and assists up to speed (guessing this is 15.5 mph ) at this point peddles loose any resistance is this the norm ? I then turn battery off and can pedal as a normal bike

Assistance seems to be cutting out as normal at around 15.5 mph but I don't understand why you would lose mechanical drive as your bike should still peddle as normal

No point in turning the battery off above 15.5mph because the motor is switched off anyway.

Some ebikes have more pedalling resistance above cut off than others.

All are heavy in comparison to a pushbike, which is not such a problem on the level, but is going up hill.

Thanks peeps hope it’s something I’m doing wrong will have a ride about tomorrow with battery off see what speed I can achieve through gearing then on battery see if problem returns thanks
