I tried these cheap copies like the Zefal Spin which is the smaller version of the Cyclops and I find it to be good. You can't make out exactly what is behind you but you get a good enough idea. It is held firm by opening the hinge connector part and stuffing a small bit of bluetack in there.

I don't like being without one of these now.
I used a Zefal Spin for about a year and a half, was very pleased with it, until it gave up after I mistreated it one too many times.

I've tried a couple of Zefals but they wouldn't tighten in my handle bar. I've just ordered a Busch-Muller. Expensive, but safety is pretty important for an old git.
