Claud Butler Electric Bike Faulty

Hi Guys,
I've just seen on ebay a Claud Butler Electric bike being sold for spares or repair £150:-

Selling as spares or repairs as the power cable from the back wheel has broken but I believe it's fairly easy to repairr but just don't have time for projects
RRP is over £1500 for these so grab a bargain.
No returns under any circumstances as its spares or repairs and is advertised elsewhere so may be removed at any time.

It looks like its the Glide 1.36, The chain is sagging and it looks like the cable that is missing is the one to the motor, any one agree?

Are the cables easy to get and fit?
Is this worth £150?
The thing that worries me is that it's being sold by Great Bently Bikes, they have a few bikes for sale, fairly good feedback, he says that he doesn't have time to fix it himself, possible but maybe too expensive or parts not available?

Best not touch it. The cable has probably broken at the entry to the hub motor spindle and fitting a new one into it with all 8 connections to phase windings and Hall sensors can sometimes be very difficult.

To make matters worse the multi-sprocket freewheel is missing from the hub motor, so someone has already been messing about with it and probably failed, possibly doing more damage.

The cable is broken where it goes into the motor. It can be repaired, but it's very tricky. You can get a new motor wheel for about £100, so it could still be a good bike, especially if you get a new controller and LCD too for about £60.

Totally agree with d8veh on this one, get one of the 350w freewheel motor kits with KT controller and lcd3 from Elifeshop or YSBattery on ebay, both exacty the same kit from Germany and buy a new 6 speed freewheel (which is missing) to cure the saggy chain. The hub looks pretty much like a Bafang copy with the bpm./cst style screw on side plate. 32km/h 270/280rpm speed.

Kit £190 & freewheel £10, for £200 a nice bike working again.
The motor wheel kit also has a basic tool kit free inc chain whip to tighten freewheel.

Wow, Thanks for looking at all of that, I'm not very mechanical, so I'll give it a miss, if it was straight forward maybe, but thanks for taking the time to investigate

It is straight forward the motor wheel will fit straight in and you just fit all the parts and plug them in no wiring to fiddle with.
Repairing the original wire cable isn't straight forward and can prove pig to repair.

Any motor wheel will fit, but it looks like it has the old larger 3-pin connector, which are pretty rare these days. That means some soldering would be necessary.
