Engineer make great hand tools - their crimp tools are second to none.

I normally tackle the problem by cutting a new slot with a dremel, so this just looks like an unnecessary spend. I bet they're well made though.

New You have normal pliers and a Dremmel, don't you? A man of your calibre and about 10 minutes grinding should be able to sort it.
Having the skills and the tools is one thing but who'd have thought of putting the serrations at 90 degrees on normal pliers o_O
Perhaps a toolmaker, but would a toolmaker need them ;)
