Yes, that's a cheap way to get an e-bike. I have just a couple of reservations that would need sorting out with the seller:

Firstly, it doesn't have a display/control panel, so that would normally mean full power whenever you pedal, but I can't see a pedal sensor either, so maybe it's throttle only.

Secondly, that pod that houses the controller looks pretty tightly stuffed in. What happens when the suspension is compressed? The same with the wires that are strapped to the spring. The spring will be moving all the time, so will it rub through the wires?

The seller has a whole range of cheap ebikes.

Awful design, and badly executed. What on earth were they thinking with the controller location. And strapping it to a moving coil spring. Its just poor, really poor. Given that the 'suspension' on the bike would be horrendous anyway the only workable option I could think of on this abortion would be to simply lock up the rear end and live with the weight penalty over a regular hardtail.

Totally right Planemo, I've ridden a Trax full suspension (similar design) and the rear wheel had a lot of vertical movement.

The controller might just get away from being squished, depending on whether that shock pivots down when the wheel is unloaded.

There is no excuse on the other hand for the poor routing of the cabling.

Cheap being the operative word here.
The basic bike costs £99 or less from sports direct, I'd question the £400 value on the electronics because who'd fit quality parts on a sub£100 bike.
I can't remember the whole saying but it starts "a fool & his money" ;)
Or is that "all that glitters" :p
