hi all plugged charger into battery to top it up, light was red
couple of hours later I notice there was no light at all showing on charger.

there is no fuse I can see swopped the power lead end into charger with another still no joy.

not sure how I can test, the charger is input 100-240vac 50/60 1.5amp output dc 42.0 2.0a

I have 2 other chargers but the input is 1.8a as against 1.5a output is the same?

bit loth to buy another charger as battery has just started to give less range

please advize, how do I check battery is ok

thank you
I measured battery at output terminals reads 37.7 v is this ok

Hi Footpump,

Amp ratings on chargers are a maximum. The device which they are connected to determines the actual amperage draw.

Voltage though, you need to make sure that itmatches the connected device, or is very close, as too little or too much could potentially damage the connected battery.

Li-ion batteries(i assume that is what you are charging) are not to be messed with, so if in doubt, play safe and don't use another charger.

As long as its a 42v charger, less than 2A it will be fine.
