Now my bike is out of warranty, and I have ridden it enough to know what suits me, I am toying with the idea of fitting a motor to the front, and a three-speed hub to the back. Possibly, one of those SRam two-speed auto hubs, like the Momentum bikes use. The present motor has just three pins in it's connection. All the replacements I have looked at seem to have more. Is this going to be beyond me? Any help greatly appreciated.

the motor is pretty much standard Hall-less e-bike motor like most current e-bike motors.
You can use anything you like of similar type, just select the Hall-less type, including the BPM motors like the Big Bear motorwheel (about £130). The controller is standard 250W Lishui LSW947, 14A. What do you have in mind? The Momentum uses a standard SWX front hub motor.

I have looked at BMS Batteries, Green Bike Kit and AliExpress, as well as EBay. It is not always clear what the cable looks like that comes out of the motor, so that I can tell which sort of cable I am going to need to extend it down to the controller. The front forks look as if they will take the axle okay, without having to fit a torque arm. This is all new to me, having owned only one EBike and having learned what little I know from this forum, YouTube etc. (Adult education!)

What exactly are you trying to achieve by changing your motor? What's wrong with the present one? What Trex said is not quite right. Some hub-motors don't run very well with sensorless controllers.

d8veh is of course correct.
If I understand correctly, you want a hub gear system, so you want to move the motor wheel to the front.

With the sort of cycling I do, I seem to be permanently clicking up and down the gears, as the terrain round here is pretty flat. A three-speed wheel would be ideal, but I have to move the rear motor first, hence the enquiry. Cyclezee do exactly the sort of bike I would like (Primo), but I am not going to make a perfectly serviceable machine redundant. The hub gear setup means you can change gear while waiting at the lights, so I can understand why the Juiced Riders chap chose it for his cargo bike, and three gears are all I use, I now realise, as the motor is doing so much of the work, which is the idea of an electric bike!

the cheapest solution is to buy a stronger motor for the rear wheel: a BPM rear motor wheel (about £130) then you would not need to change gear often because the motor has a wider power range.
Woosh can supply a drop-in replacement.
Installing a hub gear is difficult and expensive: gearbox, spokes, new front motor wheel.

Thanks for your help. I now know more than when I started. I assumed that a Big Bear motor and wheel would be too expensive, but I will make enquiries. I am not looking for a difficult project - I just want to upgrade my bike with as few problems as possible.
