Changing number of magnets in cadence ring?

If I change from a 8 magnet to a 12 magnet bottom bracket cadence ring, I would expect the following:
1. Shorter "induction" period before the front hub motor starts turning
2. Faster (attempted) acceleration of the wheel although because of inertia I would not expect real acceleration to change significantly
3. No change in the maximum speed of the wheel.
Would this be the case?

Not all systems will co-operate with a change in magnets counts, for instance the KT needs a change in the C1 setting. Smarter intelligent systems will not work correctly
My controller with 12 mag disc doesn't work correctly if the setting is set to another magnet count, you get a pause/stutter in the magnet count with pas.

I changed from 8 to 12 and modified the setting in the LCD-3. Start up is smoother and quicker (less pedal rotation needed for 2 magnets to pass the sensor).
