Finding my (electric) wheels

I have a bike with a defect 1. Gen Bosch motor. As it is out of warranty I am considering to buy a new motor on German eBay. Does anyone know if any special tools are required and if I need access to the diagnostics tool to do the swap?

I replaced the Classic motor on my wife's bike, found one in Holland. You really need the tool to get the cranks (pedal arms) off. Then it's easy, there's a video somewhere on YouTube. The motor on my wife's needed a software update, but it worked without it.

Thanks, I've ordered the motor and will give it a go.

I guess there must be a few configurations they can be set to, wheel size and whether they are for a bike with a derailleur or hub gears, the later having a softer start and less power.
Have you a link to the supplier please? I'm tempted to buy a spare motor.
