And as you shorten it it gets narrower. And it's 3 times the price
That's why I quickly rejected the Pletscher stands.

I wonder why British dealers don't (won't) source the stands which are thread/locknut adjustable. They'd fit most bikes and not need any cutting.

Ok you may think its "cheap pot" but I thought it good enough to post some pics, thinking it may be of interest to the OP
I made no reference to your stand at all, it was a general observation from my own experience.
Your stand may be made of the finest Sheffield gun maker's steel alloy for all I know.

I do like the look of that and it might just fit my space, and since it's a steel upper, theres much less chance of it falling apart. I might just bite the bullet and get one - I'm used to the stupid postal charges from the U.S. now; a couple of years ago (just last year, in fact) they were much better. I had a pair of motorcycle schocks sent for 17USD and they weigh four times as much as that item.

I'm debating biting that same bullet. It looks like it should be perfect for the job.
