Thanks for the help in advance.

My pedelec sensor is dead and I want to put in an on/off switch on the bars...I thought it would be two wires and there are 6 .. :0(

I can’t find a schematic.

Is it possible to just use a two wire switch?

If so..

which wires?

Thanks

Not as far as I am aware.
The sensor must see a "rotation" and a "direction", hard to simulate with a switch!
As the PAS sensor (I assume you mean), a same/similar one can be bought quite cheaply on say ebay or a good bike shop.
I have never had problems with this part, but several people here are very knowledgeable!
With a bit of luck, one will help you soon.

Thanks brother

My sensor would frequently cut out in wet conditions. ... and it is wet frequently here on Vancouver island.

I could remove that set of wires altogether and connect a switch to another set of leads .

Does any one know of the other lead I could connect the switch too?

As Andy mat mentioned it sounds like you are trying to replace the pas sensor with a switch

If that’s the case then you can’t replace with a switch . The sensor detects the magnets and sends pulses to the controller . A switch is just on /off and won’t work

However there are different versions and you should be able to buy a replacement that’s better for little money

Best thing would be to give us photos . Of your current pas sensor , bottom bracket /cranks and the wiring /connectors

More info we have the more exact the help can be

Water is ingressing and affecting the wiring/5v line most likely within the sensor unit. The wire entry will need water proofing and possibly the sensor it self as they often ahave a joint around them.

It's already been mentioned the PAS operation is designed/programmed so that a signal is received via rotation of a magnet/s passing a sensor , replacing with an on off switch won't work. Affectively the throttle is an on/off switch and gives in the whole no power or max power, you can try to feather in the power but it doesn't perform well that way.
If you plug the throttle in to the PAS it doesn't work, the programming /software for the two actions are different.
