I have the receipt for the bike but it's not in my name as I brought the bike off my uncle and halfords said the person who brought the bike has to take it in but he has moved away from the area any help would be helpful thanks for reading
This is a common and well-known fault.
One cause is when the LCD panel breaks contact because its holder doesn't hold it tight enough. You can solve that with a bit of thin plastic or some tape down the side/s of the panel to wedge it in tighter.
The next cause is when the battery terminals break contact when you go over a bump. You can solve that with a Velcro strap around the battery and frame to hold it in tightly.
The third cause is the motor connector on the chain stay, which is vulnerable to being kicked as you pedal. You can tape it out of the way to prevent that.
Finally, the battery self-diagnostics shut it down for no reason. There's nothing you can do about that except take it back tpo Halfords and demand that they fix it. Some are better than others.
