Bike Radar got that completely wrong. They haven't a clue. Throttles are allowed under UK regulations as long as they work in accordance with the regulations. You don't need registratio and insurance.
They are for walk assist I believe.

Hi @Woosh .

Just a quick one, is the DWG22 kit using a 12mm axle?

The dropouts on the new bike are 10mm so assume a quick file will slot in just fine?

Are these currently in stock?

Thanks

Hi Karl,

If you go for a rear hub motor, you will need a high torque motor like my 48V DWG22C.
You will have to relace it to a 36H 24" rim to suit your cargo bike.
The hub motor's flanges are drilled for 12 gauge spokes. 14 gauge spokes are thinner and more flexible so usually preferred for home lacing, so you end up with a wheel that may feel a little twitchy.

what kind of brakes have you at the rear?

No, the DWG22C has standard 10x12 motor axle. 10mm for the dropout, 12mm wheel nuts. No need for torque arms when used with the supplied controller.

Are these currently in stock?
Yes, they are in stock. We have them in 26", 700C and 650B rims.

You can use 13 gauge spokes with the DWG22C but the flanges are drilled for 12 gauge spokes.

Great thanks.

After much deliberation I am going with the DWG over a mid drive.

Thanks all for all your advice. Will report back on performance when on the cargo.
