Hi folks, I have a carerra vulcan ebike about 6 months now, I find it a decent bike but it is slow as currently the electric motor assistance stops around 16mph, I have searched the forum for posts on how to get a few more mph out of it, but no luck , has anyone managed to derestrict the vulcan?

Or is it a case of buying a new e motor and set up?

Many thanks
William

The 15.5mph assistance limit applies to all legal e-bikes in the UK. On some hub-driven e-bikes with an LCD display it's possible to over-ride that speed limit, but not yours unfortunately: The Carerra Vulcan and Crossfire both use the proprietary Suntour system, and, despite many trying, I don't think anyone has yet managed to work out how to derestrict it.
