I ride 2 motorbikes. One has a chain and the other has a cardan shaft. Maintaing the shaft bike is so much easier and cheaper than the train.

I have seen cardan shaft cycles and just wanted to know if there are any cardan shaft electric bikes?

Would there be any technical reasons why a cardan shaft electric bike would not be possible?

Hi Steve, Do you have any links to companies who sell these? Perhaps the Gruber assist would be a good fit for this technolgy?

The Zero company made shaft drive bikes for a few years and had a branch in Birmingham in the UK, but they've disappeared now. The shaft drive on that Biomega that Steve links to may be the one made by the Fullness Group in Taiwan and marketed as the "Giovelli" on this link but appearing under other names as well.
