Can you retrofit a throttle to ebike?

If you buy a ready made bike that doesn't have a throttle, is there any way to convert it so it does have a throttle as well as pedal assist?

Have I read somewhere that the Suede can have a throttle added too?

Most bikes simply do not have throttle input on their controller. To add a throttle, you will have to change the controller. You also need to get the right throttle for it and do you have space on the handlebars to fit it? would it foul against the gear shifter? would it look right?

Thanks for your replies trex. Seems the bikes I like don't have throttle or torque sensor!

So looking into kit for my bike. My other half came across this!
