April 30, 20214 yr My chain line is perfect with the 48t standard Bafang, but I want to upgrade it to possibly a bling ring to improve wear and tear. I have heard some bling rings will affect the chain line. Also, are there any specialist chains that will have less chance of snapping?
May 1, 20214 yr I thought (open to correction) that the purpose of the bling ring was to correct chainline where it can't easily be corrected in other ways. It improves wear and tear because of the improved chainline, but apart from that won't affect it more or less than any other quality chainring. If connected where chainline is already good it will make it worse and increase wear and tear worse.

I thought it was better because of the tooth pattern giving better grip, but if it's purely for the chain line then I have no worries. Thanks for the reply
May 1, 20214 yr The narrow/wide tooth design on the Bling Rings help with chain derailment, but will push the chainline inboard and the chainring adapters will push it out, so I would stick with the bafang if it works on your bike. I don't know of any other alternatives on the market.
