Hi I bought a second hand 1000w ebike mountain

The guy i bought it off didnt say anything about distance and the battery only lasts 2 miles at 25mph used off road would you say the battery is no good its surposed to be 16ah was expecting it to last at least 10 at 25mph or is that not right thanks

Yeah I'll give him a message as he insisted that that's all it would ever do lol how long should you get out off it say if I do buy a battery for it 16ah or 26 ah if you can help

Not far as the demands from the high powered motor will suck em dry & shag em out (rinse & repeat) as you've found. Better to get a bike with a legal 250w motor or a 50cc moped.

He probably sold because he realized what rubbish a typical 1000w direct drive motor is.

Just fitted a new ebike kit with a display LED 890 and it’s show a flashing
just one light and not the full battery level. I have tried a new LED a different battery, a new system cable. Also tested these on another bike and
all working. This is a real head scratcher

assuming a 48v 16 ah battery you have 16 x 48 watt-hours = 768. Divide that by 1000w gives you the time it will last, which is 0.768 hrs or 46 minutes. If you went everywhere at full power and your average speed was 20 mph, it should take you about 15 miles. if you go easy on the throttle, it could go as far as 25 miles. Your battery is shagged. Buy a new one or get your money back. Expect to pay about £400 for a reasonable battery. A cheap one will die in no time and you'll be back in the same situation..

Yeah I'll get in contact with the guy and if dont get money back I'll have to just buy a new battery thanks for all your help
