Are there any other recommended hosting sites for video other than Youtube? Ideally ones which are kept private unless shared say on a forum?

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I thought that YouTube gave you the option of keeping the video private etc.

think you can have it private public or unlisted. Unlisted makes it not searchable and you can post a link to whoever you wish to view it.. As an example this is on my youtube channel but will not pop up in any searches.. But I can post a link for viewing, or not as I choose

Vimeo is another option ... I believe the quality is much better which is why it is used a lot by people making slicker videos.
