You are right Dave, we lost one of our very first Wisper 905sels from the show. We still don't know how it was pinched, even the new £multi million security camera system at the NEC didn't help. As a mater of interest NEC security told me during the investigation that followed that they do catch a lot of thieves with the new system and 90% of the time it is an inside job, i.e. a competitor or simply another exhibitor! So Joe Public is not normally to blame.

I should also say that the show organisers were fantastic, giving us a credit note for the full value of the bike and a little extra for the fact that we had the star of our show purloined on the first day. They also completely re-vamped the security for test ride bikes at the 2012 show.

All the best

Congratulations and thanks David, the above at 10.55 am was your 3000th post, which must be a record for a trade member and showing your high degree of commitment to the pedelecs forum.

Thanks Flecc! I realised I was close to the 3,000 but hadn't realised that was it.

Pedelecs is a superb forum that has helped me in my electric bike career immensely. As I have often said, members' comments over the years have shaped the development of our current range and the bikes we are working on for 2014.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has ever posted on our bikes, good or bad every comment has been noted and has certainly helped.

I do like this business!! :)

All the best

Meteors based at Manston downed 14 V1`s by the end of the war .They were restricted from flying over Germany and German held territory, as they did not want to risk them being captured by the Germans or Russians, should they be brought down .
There was also the logistical problem of supporting a squadron of unique aircraft with almost no spares or fuel compatability with any other aircraft in the field, so no nipping over to the nearest base and scrounging parts.
Secondly, the Meteor's engines weren't rated to run very long between overhauls - a few hours iirc.
Mind you, the Germans were worse off - their jet(s) only ran two hours before blowing up.
