Hi everyone I'm looking to buy my first E Bike don't want to spend thousands but good value for money, I'm looking at the calibre kinetic any thoughts on my choice and what i can't seem to find out is the battery removable to charge
Im not a big cyclist but just retired so probably 3 times week on tracks going approx 20 mile not serious MTB

Things to check out.

The specs don't give the battery size; it is quite common for quoted 'up to' range figures to be 3 times bigger than a typical rider will get with some hills and medium assist.

The weight looks suspiciously low, may well be without battery as well as without pedals.

I don't know how easy spares/repairs will be on a Promovec e motor system; someone here will probably be able to fill you in on that. It may be a basic Chinese system with a brand, which is good for spares and repairs. Or it may be a propriety system in which case any issues are likely to be more expensive, and quite possibly parts unavailable (like early Gtech batteries). With a Bosch system spares/repairs will be very expensive, but at least they will probably be available.

It's difficult to find any details, but a battery datasheet mentions UART comms, and, apart from the motors, their electrical stuff isn't common. I'd recommend getting a bike with standard Chinese electrics and no comms in the battery rather than one of those bikes. If it goes wrong, you'll come on here for advice and the chances are that nobody will be able to help you.

Woosh, E-bikesdirect, Wisper, Juicy, Ebay. Only buy from Ebay if you can fix it yourself.

Good sources as vfr400 suggests above. BUT availability is a big problem at the moment. Woosh for example is almost (or completely?) sold out, not expecting bits in for a month or more, and then a backlog to build them up into bikes; and I think you'll find the same with most. I seem to remember seeing some manufacturer talking about 2022.

Hi, I have the Calibre Kinetic and it will do 20 miles of tracks easily with plenty of power left. The battery is 317w and can be charged on the bike, or removed to charge elsewhere if wanted. Really comfortable bike to ride, and has got me up some steep hills. Not one for the extreme pro type biker, but perfect for me who only does non extreme off road and trails. Motor and battery by Promovec who make motors for other ebikes and have UK support. Coms seperate from battery.
