Britons first TDF stage winner Brian Robinson said on ITV4 interview he can't go up the hills like he used to and now has an electric bike which he thinks is great.
Now if that isn't an endorsement then nothing is.

Not just a historic champs need either, after recent events I'm sure both Mark Cavendish and Chris Froome could benefit from an e-bike currently. :)

The fact that he said it on a program that would be watched by lots of cycling fans may stop some of the shouts of 'cheat' and maybe a little more respect that at least somebody is trying to cycle may follow. I can now ride up hills on a road bike that I only thought would be possible for me on my Agattu a few years ago. In fact I now head for the hills on the road bike.

I think you might be being a little bit optimistic.... even he himself said, I've got an eBike (which I'm not proud of!)

recent comments on one of the main MTB websites when an eBike featured were very anti eBikes.

Please can PB start another website for e-bikes, I am not interested in seeing them here, I don't care about any redeeming qualities they may have. I've already started seeing them on some trails here, and they're a menace. The sooner they are banned, the better.

I was really enjoying this article and all these new bikes....then, it all changed.....I saw the e-bike.

Old people will love the e bike, dam baby boomers, wrecked the world, now wrecking MTB too fat lazy but they still want to be cool...

are just some of the examples. Haters will hate, if you enjoy it thats great, there is a growing appreciation of the point / purpose and enjoyment of eBikes - but don't expect for the world of sports cyclists to suddenly one day think its a great idea, because I'm afraid that probably isn't going to happen.

Don't waste your time worrying about these types, they haven't enough intellect to realise the flaws in their (currently held) views:

Oh, wad some Power the giftie gie us,
Tae see oorsel's as ithers see us!

Look 'em up in twenty years time, they might have learned something by then.
