Brightest light for not silly money

My commute was destined to change but I have deleted the move

It leaves me having to cycle should I choose to over the dark night season

I cut down a long unlit section of a cycle path running parallel to fields for approx 4 miles no cars any where in sight so I need a cheap super super bright lamp for that section to light the way
Plus I like torches in general so the brighter the better

Something like one of these or even brighter if poss

NB: The 760 lumen Moon being considerably brighter than the several thousand lumen chinese one that drowned the first time it saw rain

Actually yes. Doesn't make sense (to me) that it lasts as long as it does. USB charging from a PC too. Noticing they're out of stock though, so you might have to look at a similar current model. Very well made bit of kit, no separate battery to faff around with.

That one in your link is the one I had that drowned. It was the battery that committed hari-kari. Waterproof it in a plastic bag and it might well be okay.

What is handlebar mount like?. Will it handle serious MTBing without moving.

I've found screw tightened mounts good off road.

It's a screw tightened one, and blooming good. I don't do serious MTBing, but it's rock solid, so I wouldn't doubt it for a moment.

Just picked up a handlebar bag for that very purpose of battery housing

That one is perfect. I use one every time I ride at night. I tried most of the other Ebay, Aliexpress and Banggood ones first, but that one would take some beating. I can't believe that anybody would need any more light.
