Hello guys,

What's the brexit impact on your hobbies? I wanted to buy some stuff from china or from some international sellers... but everything is so expensive now because the pound is all time low now.

I'm hoarding my cash now... waiting for better time before buying new controllers, batteries or motor.....

What's the impact on you?

Hi Cath, our bikes are all going up by £100.00 on 1st September, this is 100% down to the post Brexit pound value. I've held back for weeks now hoping we would recover but it doesn't look like it will happen.

To keep the increase down to only £100 we have also had to reduce our margins. Not great. Fortunately our bikes were very good value to start with!

Price may keep going up as brexit just happened.

With bank of england doing quantitative easing and the pound extra low... seller may not have increase the price locally yet

Wouldn't worry a great deal about it, just do a little overtime to compensate ;)

Electric bikes have never been a cheap hobby anyway, never was, never will be.... Damn you Bafang :p

Companies tend to put prices up whenever they think they can justify it. Brexit is a good excuse even if they don't have/need to..

Not sure this aplies to anyone in the ebike world in the UK. There are no motors batteries kits etc all made in UK

All UK ebike manufacturers or suppliers have to buy Chinese or German or Japanese components (or indeed complete bikes)

The forex differential between pre and post brexit is real. It really does cost them more.

Im just a punter but I accept the inevitable here. Hopefully in the medium term this will change
