Seems Hancock did actually do something useful. Worth a read. Good old Hancock...
That will get OG going.

My apologies, you are right, assuming you took same stance as OG is a diabolical insult. I do agree the accusation levelled at you was misplaced. Serious apologies. But OG is still a raging, raving hypocrite.
Well done you just proved what a hypocrite really is, time that you gave up on this campaign against me personally.
Go away and come back when you grow up

It’s strange how the EU can admit a mistake over the AZ vaccine / Irish border issue last weekend, but our self appointed expert can’t. I mean, it’s not like he’s short of practice at being wrong!
Says the man when asked for an apology because he was wrong replies "***k off"

You, ll have to explain how posting one of our government's few success stories makes me a hypocrite. Hancock actually managed to have some foresight, albeit looking in wrong direction, but a positive nonetheless.(get a grown up to read article to you)
Trouble with you OG everything is black and white. EU good. UK bad. Anybody with an ounce of sense knows that is never the case, sometimes UK gets things right and sometimes EU does. Being able to spot that is part of not being prejudiced. You allow your prejudices to command you.
Our govt has received world wide appreciation for its vaccine handling. Yes, as I, ve said for weeks now, they might well go back to the 3 (4?) week gap but irrespective of wether they do or do not they deserve credit. 600,000 vaccinations in a single day.
A prerequisite of a vaccine strategy is having a vaccine. EU, as yet, hasn't really got one. (not in sufficient numbers to roll out mass vaccination) They are now thrashing about putting contracts together. UK has orders in place for 360 million vaccines. (Valneva being latest, produced in Scotland)
And, a little advice. Continually knocking an organisation detracts from real criticism. On areas where credit is due it should be given, otherwise your criticism is simply explained away as prejudice. Your next ramblings against our government might be justified, they, ll be explained away as that prejudiced hypocrite bog salesman from Hull.
Sort of crying wolf...
Our government from Hancock all the way to nurse giving jabs and everything in between deserves credit. You have given none.

Nor in the instance of the EC spat on Friday was I . Follow the sequence.... I always said the story was real ..but not true. The ECs mistake was that it would be mis interpreted, and that was not realised at the time.
Sorry Danidl but IMHO you are wrong. Ursula Von Der Leyen put motions in place to instigate a hard border with little if any consultation with EU member states! (including Ireland) There are calls from EU member States for her resignation, if what you were saying is correct a denial of "allegations" would have been made.
She did introduce mentioned legislation but under pressure from Belfast, London and other places it was withdrawn.

The Valvena vaccine is a French design and will be manufactured in Scotland. It is being manufactured on the presumption that it will be successful in trials yet to be completed. This is exactly the situation that the EU understood would be the situation with the AZ plant in Belgium. But when they started looking for the goods they had purchased and expected to be stockpiled, they were told the cupboard was empty. So when they were not getting answers from AZ , they started searching backwards. That is the context of the Friday contretemps.
The EU strategy is behind because of the actions of AZ.

I , for one am happy that the UK vaccination project is working out . I believe they are making a strategic error in the timing of the second dose, but that is a detail. It must be noted however that the UK currently has the worst published death numbers per head in the entire world, so has the greatest need. ( Just in case you are going to take me to task regarding Belgium.. I don't know what they compute , but I do believe the UK is underreporting.).

Read more carefully the interview with McGuiness. Certainly the EC..whether Ursula or someone else ,I don't know, were extremely anxious to track product going into the UK. At worst they omitted to realise where the UK / EU border actually was. And yes that was a mistake..and when pointed out by M.Martin ,was corrected or clarified within a few hours The rest of what you say is true, there are calls for her resignation , ..there always are in cases like this. It has not done the EUs reputation any good.

Its origin is irrelevant the simple fact is UK now has in place procurement notices for enough vaccine for both short and medium term, to such an extent UK is going to be on a position to help out countries with less well organised contract negotiations.
With regard to death rate, as I, ve said before
A) uk does have a terrible mortality.
B) nobody knows exactly why
C) there are other countries with similar and worse rates
D) we were not discussing mortality rates
E) your issue regarding UK's death rate accuracy can be levelled at every single country.
F) Worldwide we are probably not half way through this pandemic. The future relies on cooperation and acceptance of vaccines. Knocking any countries attempts with the vaccine rollout will quite certainly lead to more deaths.
(last point not levelled at you, a general point)
PS It's Valneva.
Actually my apologies apparently there is a Valvena as well. Is it same company?
I was talking about Valneva.

They dropped a *******. It’s ok, there’s no need to be so defensive, it makes the situation look worse than it is.

There is only Valneva, a vaccine producer.

A number of sources have made the mistake of publishing Valvena, in one case with both versions on the same page of a site.

The U.K. is supplying the AZ vaccine to the world, at cost. I think this shows that our government has grasped the idea that vaccination is just as important in all corners of the world as it is right here at home. The priority is equal, globally.

I am shocked that on the one hand the government has made such a pigs ear of managing the spread of the virus, but absolutely nailed the vaccination programme.
