17/05/2020 and 14/08/2020. Two important dates. The first date is when the U.K. committed to the AZ vaccine. The second date is when the EU eventually got around to it.

Nova Vax. Another U.K. manufactured vaccine coming on line. This will turbo change an already impressive vaccine roll out.

I just got news that multiple complaints have been filed to financial regulators after apparently "milions" of people that use Robin Hood, the app that they've been using to do the transactions, have been blocked from using it without explanation.
robinhood has not blocked ther customers to buy Gamestop and AMC shares but increased margin requirement for them to 100%. They can do that at anytime. If you don't have enough own funds, they will sell your position on those shares. If there are lots of you in the same situation, that will cause those shares to collapse. A reverse of a shortsqueeze.
That's what happened when lots of their customers buy shares on margins or borrowed money from the brokers. Totally legal.
You don't have to be a short seller to make tons of cash if you know the timing.

Two people in Brazil have been found to have two different strains of the corona virus at the same time. Details from the live up date page of the Guardian.

"Researchers in southern Brazil said they have discovered patients infected with two different strains of the new coronavirus simultaneously, reflecting concerns about the growing number of variants in the country.

The researchers said their study would be the first in the world to confirm co-infection with two strains of the coronavirus. The study has yet to be published in a scientific journal and has not been peer reviewed.

The patients, both in their 30s, were infected in late November with the P.2 variant of coronavirus identified in Rio, also known as the B.1.1.28 lineage, and simultaneously tested positive for a second variant of the virus.

Their symptoms were reportedly mild, with a dry cough in one case and coughing, sore throat and headache in the second. They did not require hospitalisation.

The cases underscore how many variants could already be circulating in Brazil and raise concerns among scientists that the coexistence of two strains in the same body could speed up mutations of new variants of coronavirus.

The study’s lead researcher, Fernando Spilki, a virologist at Feevale University in Rio Grande do Sul state, said:

These co-infections can generate combinations and generate new variants even more quickly than has been happening.”
“It would be another evolutionary pathway for the virus,” Spilki added."

I think the entire world needs to go full out to get everyone vaccinated as soon as possible. If we don't then the chances are we will be forever chasing our tales with trying to invent new vaccines to combat the ever changing virus. It's rather scary to think someone can have two different strains of the virus at the same time, who knows what type of new strain that could lead to.

Hedge funds have now lost $70 billion because of the Wallstreetbets targeting the same companies as the hedge funds tried to ruin. Iknew this story was going to grow legs. It seems that the hedge funds bribed all the trading systems that the small guys were using to not allow them to buy more shares in the targetted companies. This forced the price back down a bit so that they didn't suffer so much loss. Already two class action law suits have been filed against Robin Hood and other trading hosts that mysteriously suddenly stopped allowing their clients to buy those shares, but still allowed to sell them. Criminal proceedings might well follow.

This is a story about the small guys playing the big guys at their own game, then the big guys have to resort to cheating.

More sensorship has followed when Google just deleted 100,000 negative reviews from their disgruntled clients. Why would they want to do that? What's it to them, or were they bribed too?

Already a protest has started at Wall street. Some are saying that it's going to be as big as the Occupy Wall Street protest in 2011, though there is much more crookedness and bribery in the institutions now, so I'm expecting to see very heavy-handed policing.

This activity is now spreading across the world targetting just about every big company that has been shorted. Financial institutions are panicking because they have no counter-strategy other than trying to block and sensor, which is illegal.

Seems having your fingers in the till isn't unique to Tories.
It certainly isn't, remember my post about the donations members of both major parties accept from the "Friends of Israel"?
Oddly Corbyn wasn't on the list :D

Ok! the numbers are impressive so long as you don't mind how much is being gambled to save time.
17/04/2020 A date when we ordered a vaccine, waived the liabilities of the manufacturers, and despite them saying it would be sold on a non profit basis, managed to pay 10 times as much as the EU per shot.
Then jumped the gun with acceptance, taking a gamble not only with that, but even the interval between shots, because we wanted to steal a march on the EU.
Having taken this gamble we vaccinated the elderly , something the Germans are unhappy about, but we have taken the chance using this part of the public as guinea pigs.

What's not to like? but hey if the elderly start dying off, they aren't going to complain anyway, and we can always quote the standby they caught a new variant of the virus.

I give up with trying to get you to see the upside to anything. So I have written this for you.

There was a toilet maker from Hull

Who decided that the lavatory chain he must pull.

Upon the porcelain pan he sat.

And realised as he took a shat.

Thank you, when we need humour from the idiot fringe we will let you know.
My post you so object to was in fact simply a listing of facts, but then you actually voted for Brexit didn't you?

How's that going by the way?

Good news for those who order groceries, etc. online - and delivery drivers:

UK supermarkets to tell delivery drivers not to hand alcohol to drunk people
Exclusive: plan drawn up with global drinks firms also warns against giving orders to children
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2021/jan/28/uk-supermarkets-tell-delivery-drivers-not-hand-alcohol-drunk-people

Many years ago, I discussed drunkenness with a publican. (He had some understanding of the subject. :) ) Seemed that publicans were expected to recognise that some was drunk and not serve them. Without and legal or practical guidance on how to determine if someone actually is inebriated.

I would hate to be a delivery driver expected to assess drunkenness of recipients. There are quite a number of health issues which are difficult to distinguish. And surely they are not suggesting breathalysers or smelling their exhaled breath?

Getting it wrong and not delivering could be very negative. I wouldn't blame someone being angry if misidentified leading to a bust-up and nothing being delivered. Bad enough without lockdown.

Methinks this is all a scam. Say you have an ailing company in which you have excess shares and you start pumping up the share price, the lemmings rush on board and the shares explode in value. You then drop your stock, the lemmings still buy them, you have cashed out, and then the inevitable occurs ...someone looks at the balance sheet.
Meanwhile you have pocketed or throusered it as the term is and smile at the lemmings. And of course the professional stockbrokers don't care whether the stock went up or down, they make profit on the trade.
Mark Twain said it best with his story of the picket fence painting.
