..I try not to comment on UK Politics, but this sentence was just so good...
". Those of us who have watched him in action as a colleague over the years can appreciate the engaging optimism that forms the base of his success as a communicator. But behind this lies a vacuum of detail, industry and integrity. "

Look, all we have is second hand info regarding this, and some of those presenting it don't understand the details, so much can get lost or spun between the true facts and what's presented on both sides.

I'm looking at the overall picture. If everything was above board, people would be happy to be completely open and show what they're up to. Even with the recount in Georgia, you'd have thought that they'd have a video camera on every counter to prove that they were doing it right. Instead, they made all sorts of restrictions on what the observers could see and made sure that there weren't enough observers to watch everyone. It's fishy!

The problem is that the people in charge of how it all works are said to be the perpetrators, so how are we going to get to the truth?

Looking at the bigger picture again, Biden hardly did any campaigning, and when he did, hardly anybody turned up. It's absolutely clear he's not completely compus mentus, and he has a poor record of achievement from his 47 years in politics. Put all those things together and it turns out he's the most popular candidate in history he got more votes than anybody else ever. It's fishy.

Then you look at what happened in those vital swing states. The voting patterns just don't match what happened in the other democrat strong-holds, nor anywhere else. He got fewer votes than Hillary Clinton in every state except those swing states. Again, it's fishy.

Then you look at Kamala Harris. She didn't do very well in the primaries. That would have been a true show of her popularity however they try to spin it now. She has a lot of nasty baggage from when she was California AG and she targeted mainly coloured people, locked them up for a very long time for minor non-violent crimes and used them as slave labour. I can't believe she would be popular with left-wingers, nor BLM. Many times during the campaign, she was introduced as the next president, so it's clear that they're going to take out Biden very soon. People can't be so thick that they don't realise that they're voting for her.

That's 3 lots of fishy, plus other things that don't seem right. Take any two away, and you can make excuses, but when you add up all three, the result just doesn't make sense unless you're suffering from some sort of derangement.

Changing the subject completely, I think it was VFR that reported some time ago that motor cycles have been selling like hot cakes since the first lock down. I looked around a few motor cycle show rooms near me last week and all the sales people I spoke to confirmed that VFR was correct. MCN reported last week that this Octobers sales were about 14% up on October 2019.

I sold my last motor cycle (Triumph Sprint GT) a couple of years ago and had hoped that by now a decent electric motorcycle would be on the market at a decent price. Unfortunately to get decent range and performance your looking at double what I would want to pay.

I haven't yet made my mind up if I will get another motor cycle but if I do I don't want to be paying anymore than around £8k for one. There is nothing that is suitable for this price in the electric motor cycle category.

Triumph are bring out a new Trident bike its a petrol engine, 3 cylinder 660 cc bike. Top speed of 130 mph and 70 miles per gallon, price is around £7k. How many years do you folks think I would have to wait before an electric motorcycle will come close to matching this?

you can't be serious talking about true facts, we are talking about Donald Trump here. Facts don't matter to Trump, truth for him is completely different from yours and mine.
We all accept that we have our own views, sometimes we agree, sometimes we disagree but we are not at war with each other, so we remain lucid.
Trump keeps his followers on constant war footing, the information war, so they may swallow all his rubbish without questioning.
I would rather read Nigel's own thoughts than regurgitated, half digested Trump's version of facts and suppositions.

You are right vfr, American politics is extremely fishy. Serious for a change now how come a man who has a string of law suits hanging over him, who has been twice bankrupt, against who has had numerous allegations of impropriety with women made and may well be investigated for tax fraud, ended up as leader of the most powerful country on earth for the past four years
Now "THAT'S" fishy:rolleyes:

who has been twice bankrupt
I think it is zero or six times!

Although Trump has never filed for personal bankruptcy, hotels and casino businesses of his have declared bankruptcy six times between 1991 and 2009 due to its inability to meet required payments and to re-negotiate debt with banks, owners of stock and bonds and various small businesses (unsecured creditors).

A few months ago, they said that the great reset was a conspiracy theory. Now it's the main subject in Time magazine:
it's a great opportunity to remodel our economy and politics.
Almost all western democracies have had to borrow and spend huge sums of money this year and maybe another 3-4 more years to re-inflate their economy after the pandemic has passed. The money will have to come from somewhere, not always possible from their nationals, so some countries will fare better than others.
The UK's economy is bound to be more unstable than the Eurozone, but there is a silverlining in that we are readier than our neighbours for change.
I'd like to see a greener future, more breathable air, cleaner water, better looked after environment and a little more social conscience.

Here's a funny one, all these law suits finding their way to US courts as we know are getting nowhere ... here's why.
It turns out the wrong documents are being delivered to the wrong courts by the wrong lawyers at the wrong time !
Court officials have been heard laughing out loud when these people turn up waving paperwork :D
Why should they care, the get paid anyway but they know it's all a waste of time.

Plus of course Biden had online rallies that could have been seen by many thousands, they didn't need to turn up and take risks in fact they were told not to.
What even Biden did it worked, he'll be the next President.

So you don’t know it started in Italy then.
seriously, if you have time, read the following article.
It may be boring but it explains quite well the background to how come China managed to control the virus through experience and we don't.
Also, American and European labs, especially in Germany, have been studying for a long time Avian Influenza. Accidents at poultry farms in the past may indicate a pathway for the virus escaping from one of the labs.

QUOTE:

The pandemic potential of avian influenza A (H7N9) viruses has risen substantially since its first emergence as a low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) virus in 2013. Risk assessment by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention characterizes these viruses to pose a moderate to high pandemic threat to humans [1,2]. As of June 2019, avian influenza A (H7N9) viruses had caused six epidemic waves of human disease in China, totalling 1568 laboratory confirmed cases and 616 deaths (~40% case fatality rate) [3]. For the first four epidemic waves, only LPAI H7N9 viruses circulated and caused asymptomatic or mild disease in poultry [4]. The lack of observable disease in poultry populations posed a considerable challenge in prevention and control of the disease, and highlighted the need for active surveillance for these viruses.

During the fifth epidemic wave in 2016–2017, several concerning changes were discovered about the LPAI H7N9 viruses. Approximately 21% of epidemic H7N9 virus samples obtained from humans and the environment contained a four amino acid insertion (K-R-T-A) in the hemagglutinin (HA) protease cleavage site, a mutation that is characteristic of high pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) viruses [2,5,6]. These HPAI H7N9 viruses demonstrated greater morbidity and mortality in poultry [6]. Although this epidemic wave resulted in the greatest number of confirmed cases of human H7N9 infections (> 700 cases) with 28 of the cases caused by HPAI H7N9 infections [7,8], the overall disease severity was similar to previous patients infected with LPAI H7N9 [4,9,10]. However, the geographical spread of these viruses in China extended the furthest during this epidemic, with new areas reporting cases of H7N9 infections for the first time [4,6,11]. Since 2013, the HA genes of LPAI H7N9 viruses have evolved into two main lineages, the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta lineages [12], and studies have shown that H7N9 vaccines generated using A/Anhui/1/2013 (LPAI H7N9) induced antibodies that provided moderate recognition of recent HPAI H7N9 viruses [5].

To control the spread of H7N9 viruses, the Government of China launched a mandatory vaccination program for avian influenza in July of 2017. By November 2017, a newly developed bivalent H5/H7 inactivated vaccine was used to vaccinate over 282 million domestic poultry in China [13]. A series of strategies including the closure or management of live poultry markets (LPMs) [14] and vaccination resulted in significant reduction in the number of H7N9 cases or outbreaks detected at LPMs or poultry farms and a corresponding decrease in H7N9 infections in humans, specifically in the Guangdong Province [13]. It is important to note though that vaccination does not result in sterilizing immunity in vaccinated birds, therefore, continued replication and antigenic drift of these viruses in bird populations continues to pose a threat of a future re-emergence of H7N9 viruses.

The recent evolution of LPAI H7N9 to HPAI H7N9 viruses emphasizes the need to better understand the potential of these viruses to cause severe disease in humans, and what contributes to their pathogenicity. While the main difference between these two viruses is the presence of a polybasic cleavage site (PBC) in HA, whether this alone is required for increased pathogenicity in mice or if other factors are needed was the focus of our study. We investigated the pathogenesis of HPAI H7N9 viruses in the mouse model and identified the determinants of pathogenicity by reverse genetics. We show that introduction of a PBC HA into LPAI H7N9 virus (A/Anhui/1/2013, H7N9-PBC) alone did not elicit a high pathogenic phenotype in mice upon initial exposure to the virus. However, a single passage of the reverse genetics generated H7N9-PBC virus in mice was necessary and sufficient for it to become highly pathogenic and lethal, pointing to a need for host adaptation in the H7N9-PBC virus to achieve its high pathogenic potential in this host. Sequencing of the passaged virus revealed critical mutations in addition to the PBC cleavage site that contributed to high pathogenicity of these viruses.

With the sparsity of true facts, you have to use those that you know to be true, then apply your best logic. That's how I came to the conclusion that something fishy went on. There's no logic that matches the so-called facts presented.

There's a lot more info to come out regarding these machines, who's involved with them and how they work. When it all comes out, I think you're going to be shocked.
