In all the mentions of Johnson perhaps attempting another prorogue now, none seem to have realised that the Queen's advisors would certainly advise her to say No after the Supreme Court's unanimous ruling.

That would probably have been already relayed in advance to prevent Johnson even trying, thus avoiding any constitutional outrage.

The problem is with leaders of the brexit movement, they appear to be mendacious and willing to flout the law.
I agree, but think about that statement. We have a Prime Minister willing to and quite comfortable with the idea of, breaking the law. Not only that, has demonstrated complete contempt for the law by not cooperating with proceedings last week. Having unanimously been been found to have broken the law by 11 of the country’s most senior judges, he now launches an offensive against them, stating they have reached the wrong verdict. Yet still he offers no evidence for his defence.

Regardless of where you stand politically, or which side of the Brexit debate you support, a line has been crossed here. The only thing we have as citizens to prevent dictators, despots and outright criminals from ruining our country is the law. Johnson, the most powerful man in the country, crossed the line yesterday by taking to the world stage, and with Trump at his side, proclaimed, I am above the law.

We are entering new and dangerous territory.

From BJ's rambling, chaotic UN speech:

“When Prometheus brought fire to mankind. In a tube of fennel, as you may remember, that Zeus punished him by chaining him to a Tartarean crag while his liver was pecked out by an eagle. And every time his liver regrew the eagle came back and pecked it again. And this went on forever – a bit like the experience of Brexit in the UK, if some of our parliamentarians had their way.”

We want to keep our liver. Not see the eagle eat it and it NOT grow back. (The growing back is subtly undermining - even if we leave it will be relaced by something else. And a substitute for the real thing isn't as good.)

He might have a sisyphean task, in his view.

As usual the right wing press are showing their true colours
Telegraph
Boris Johnson to make new push for general election after Supreme Court 'frustrated the will of the people'

And what will of the people are they referring to?
Why not ask them? the supreme court frustrated a would be dictator, who in fact is likely to be the one frustrating the "will of the people"

Every time the HOC or Corbyn tells Boris to resign, He will just say let the people decide in a GE. Even though Boris has ruled out a pact with Farage, he will soon change his mind when push comes to shove.

RICHARD LITTLEJOHN: Why don't we drag John Bercow in front of the Supreme Court?

What for? the Supreme court ordered him to recall parliament! so they aren't going to support him being "dragged" in front of them are they?

Perhaps naively I believe the uk electorate is marginally more sophisticated than say the alt right boneheads in america and dont fall for the " people versus parliament" bs so that it all comes to nought.

The Times thinks Cummings should be Goings
"
One Conservative MP told The Times: “If there’s one thing that is 100 per cent clear after this, it is that Cummings must go and go now. It is entirely his failure and he must pay the price now.”

David Gauke, the former justice secretary, said that Mr Cummings’s position was untenable.

And he should take the "animal clone"muppet with him

I’m not sure why Johnson keeps calling for a GE. He must realise that even the most stupid person on the planet knows that all he wants a GE for is to use it as a mechanism to abuse process and suspend parliament again until after we crash out of the EU on 31/10. He was rumbled weeks ago, why does he keep trying the same old tired tactics?

Once he’s been to the EU and asked them very nicely if they will be kind enough to dig him out of the $h!t, AGAIN, he will get his GE.

From Farage's comments this morning it looks like he now regards Boris as "Dead meat"
On LBC
"
Nigel Farage insists Boris Johnson should resign because he has caused a "catastrophic political disaster."

"I think he's going to have to offer his resignation to the House of Commons tomorrow and see if they accept it. I don't see any other way round it."

Yup, and he's going hard for the hard brexit vote. Polls show a 55% vote in favour of remain at present. That's as oppose to a soft brexit. What percentage of the electorate do you think support both a hard brexit and change from parliamentary democracy to autocracy? he has the political instincts of a hippo too.
