Brexit, for once some facts.

The Democratic Unionist Party exists to represent the views of those still clinging to the British political party which brought about the wars in Ireland that led to partition and the ensuing apartheid. It stands for the continuation of religious bigotry and ignores the lessons of history, that of South Africa being particularly relevant in terms of human rights.

Its closeness to the British establishment and its political wing, the tory party, is well documented and only recently, we witnessed how desperate the current tory government is to keep the DUP's support, awarding them a massive bribe for no other reason than to ensure an easy time in the HofC, while the government dogmatically attempts to railroad any kind of 'deal' through parliament.

So, in short AK, the DUP is exactly as you imagine.

Who is writing the Script of this Farce called Brexit?

In the Independent.

Government advises certain companies to consider moving headquarters out of UK in no-deal Brexit
Advice comes as ministers publish final tranche of documents outlining government preparations for no-deal scenario

Certain companies based in Britain may want to consider moving their headquarters abroad in the event of a no-deal Brexit, according to official UK government advice to businesses.

One advice paper titled “Structuring your business if there’s no Brexit deal” advises companies incorporated under EU corporate law that moving to a country that is still a member state may be better for their business.

So-called “societates Europaeae” – European companies – will not be able to operate in the UK and will have to either legally incorporate in another country or convert to a British-only plc.

Not a difficult choice for them, is it? but a bloody self defeating admission on the part of the Government.

You couldn’t write a script for this farce. The best comedy writers couldn’t conceive such a hideous plot.

I have referred to our MPs as cretins in the past and noted that some have found the term “cretin” to be offensive. Not wishing to cause further offence, I shall refer to our MPs as a bunch of spazers for now on. A title they richly deserve.

How amusing! how can one possibly have fallen so low they can't become a member of a party that specializes in Limbo dancing under the doors in public toilets because it is short of funding?
:D

You realise you are quoting yourself, replying to yourself and actually laughing at one of your own posts whilst having a conversation with yourself?

This place just gets weirder and weirder.

Just watched a video clip on Twitter of one of the right wing loonies in Robinsons shambolic pro Brexit demo climb up on a stone pillar with an EU flag
He soaked the flag in lighter fuel and tried to set fire to it.

Thanks to EU safety regulations it wouldn't burn and he gave up the attempt! :D

Never left.

Tommy Robinson is no friend of mine. Please stick to the facts.

Talking of facts there is an interesting debate about Brexit on radio five now.

Brexit: UK can unilaterally revoke article 50, says EU court
Britain can stop the Brexit process without approval from member states, rules ECJ
Exactly what I've been saying all along, the Leavers maintaining it was impossible were clearly wrong.

A pity the ECJ didn't also add that it would be the sensible thing to do.

The share price of Interserve, one of the government's much vaunted private enterprise conglomerates has plummeted this morning. I wonder if we can expect another bail-out using taxpayers' money or whether their shareholders will help them back on their feet somehow?

It really is difficult to imagine how other British companies might fare well should we exit the EU if this is typical of the managerial talent running large companies employing thousands of workers.

That was always the flaw in the pro brexit argument, lack of organisational talent

Well in fairness, I am a remainer who having read the text at face value also believed it to be impossible, so I am suprised. But it really does mean the clock is ticking... 3.5 months.

Who said it was impossible?

The EU will do everything they can to stop us leaving. Everything. My hunch as I’ve said all along is a deal after the March deadline in April.

The deal will mean we stay in but on different terms and terms that are acceptable to us.

But we have to be prepared to leave without deal and operate under WTO riles.

Leave supporters in parliament have maintained we could not reverse article 50, supported by many outside too. Others maintained we could only enter via article 49 on new conditions such as euro acceptance. I've maintained earlier that wasn't true, and now we know we can reverse article 50 and retain all former conditions including our rebate.

My forecast now is very different from yours. I believe May will most likely return from the EU with an important modification to the backstop, giving it a fixed final conclusion. She and the EU will hope that is sufficient to be supported in the House. If that does happen I believe it will be voted for since MPs know how fed up the public are and how much they want the matter concluded.

You might be right, but I will be very much more upset and annoyed by our leaving than even the longest delay.
