Brexit, for once some facts.

Elsewhere on social media today, I came across these straight-to-the-point infographics on different issues.

This first one is a classic, selected by a left-wing website, depicting the stupidity and ignorance of typical UKIP/Tory/Brexit fodder:
39869085_2184599918439284_8770066078739988480_n.jpg

The next one reveals why the UK government needs to withdraw support for Saudi Arabia...and Israel too for that matter:

In the USA, the growing discontent with the President among that part of their population with an IQ of more than double figures is becoming increasingly apparent :

In regard to a deeper, more fundamental issue, the Indian novelist, former Booker prize winner and human rights activist, Arundhati Roy draws attention to exactly the kind of matter the British government doesn't want to discuss in parliament and would prefer if no-one ever mentioned it:

I think she has nailed it with that remark!

Well, speaking of bombshells, there is this item about the people who supplied the arms and armaments that caused so much destruction to British military personnel and equipment in 1982.

As we prepare to exit the EU and enjoy amazing new trade deals with our 'friends' like the USA and Israel, I wonder how many remember the Falklands war and the casualties suffered by the UK task force, casualties caused by Israeli-supplied weaponry.

Do 'Brexit' supporters imagine that we will gain better economic trade conditions and better support by aligning ourselves with these warmongering nations the tories like to tell the public are our friends?

'The Telegraph' has the story:

Not in any way a criticism of The Star's story, someone needs to say it (again), but it is state the bleeding obvious time:

The head of the World Trade Organization said the U.K. risks trade disruption in the event of a no-deal Brexit because it is “very unlikely” to have agreed tariffs and quotas with the other WTO members in time.

“The moment that other countries begin to sense an opportunity to increase their market share or increase a quota here or there, they are going to go for that,” WTO Director General Roberto Azevedo told BBC Radio 4 on Friday. “It is very unlikely that you’re going to have a 100 per cent agreed outcome for all WTO members between now and March.”

Somebody has been busy with photoshop:

The Art of the (Plea) Deal. Well, Trump would surely approve

Made me chuckle for a moment. Then an image of the main protagonist came to mind and any levity dropped away, fast.

How does that play with those who are so fierce in their criticism of JC?

They ignore it and press on with their assasination campaign of Corbyn of course, even though we have seen an image Tom posted of Thatcher shaking hands with Menachim Begin, the man responsible for allowing arms sales to our enemies during the conflict.

The UK leaving the EU isn't going to permanently reduce the EU membership after all.

After decades of dispute between Greece and the country of Macedonia, a name also belonging to a large part of Greece, settlement is in sight. The country of Macedonia is to be renamed North Macedonia with the agreement of both parties and Greece will no longer veto the Nato membership of that country, making it the 30th member of the alliance.

The negotiations for EU membership of North Macedonia will then follow and the EU will be back to 28 countries when concluded.

I doubt Vladimir Putin will be too concerned about the NATO growth, since North Macedonia has just 2 millions population.

Hardly new or a surprise, but good to see it reported.
the conservatives are solely responsible for no deal brexit.
Universities, food and drink producers, lots of manufacturers, exporters and pensioners are going to lose out on day one,
The few winners are those who back hard brexit: British sugars.

Another Tory low life parasitic "Think Tank" appears in the Express
"
EU WILL PAY: No-deal Brexit will spark financial DISASTER for Brussels warns expert
A NO-DEAL Brexit would be disastrous for European financial firms who will lose access to the City of London, an economic expert has warned.
In a stark warning, Westminster think-tank Parliament Street said the EU's economy would suffer if it fails to strike a workable deal.

There appear to be half a dozen Tory party non entities styling themselves as a "think tank" as usual with no "Visible means of support"

We seem to be hearing more and more from these wannabee influencial quangos of Tory hangers on of late, and of course the Right wing press lap up their nonsense as Gospel

They are "Vendors of Fake Propaganda" very handy to Murdoch and his ilk.
It makes you wonder how any of these subversive quotable fake news outfits Conservative Central office has spawned.

Oh dear! Looks like we'll just have to turn to Frankfurt for financial services...

Theresa May orders space race after Brexit with sat-nav system to rival EU's

Paid for with The Magic money Tree?
Or from the " Brexit Bonus"?
Paid for with the €1.4bn that hasn't yet been (and surely never will be) refunded as UK's contribution to Galilo. It is a start towards the €10bn to replicate what already exists - with a guessed 20 year cost of €20bn.

There has been much criticism of the cost of Galileo - of the EU spending out of control variety - especially from those now so well-known for their brexit views despite the cost being spread across however many EU partners. Yet now they (or at least, the UK government driven by their madcapppery) are planning for a wholly separate UK-only version?

Isn't Galileo an absolute classic of something that is unaffordable for a modest country but, by combining 28 countries, suddenly appears achievable?

Finally, just what would make Apple, Samsung, BQ, Huawei, Samsung, Meizu and Sony bother to include UK-Galileo-Light? Bicycle navigation devices from Garmin, etc? Even worse, in the more specialist markets such as surveying equipment where UK sales will be a niche in a niche in a niche, will anyone ever make compatible equipment?

£100 million is the sort of amount that would hardly get the project going but would be a very helpful amount in some other area(s) of government spending.

The costs of NOT having compatibility are themselves high.

One comment:

Thanks to Damian Green bottling it, the purpose built lorry park that has been spomen about countless times andvplanned for countless times still hasnt been built. So we will get total gridlock here in Kent, thanks Green. Youve lost my vote, especially you being a remain er, while your constituents voted leave.

This person thinks that a lorry park equivalent to 13 miles of motorway is a sensible, viable approach to the issue? It would stop gridlock? It would be a good way of spending our money? (Along with paying for our own UK-Galilieo-Light.)
