It doesn't really merit a response but I'll just say it certainly wasn't due to EU interference so perhaps you should check-out the tory government's policies on PFI, competition, and privatisation since 1979.

They certainly will wish to,. Mrs May referred to same at a recent visit to Dublin. However events have their own momentum and I foresee a future where rancour overshadows reason and the UK defaults to a hard brexit on WTO terms.
Again I refer that once article 50 is triggered the UK is on the backfoot .They have no controlling interest at best they can negotiate in good faith

I can't see that even when we crash out without a deal. There has always been close relationship between our two countries.

Actually it was three weeks ago and it was posturing. This would have been in advance of the May visit and of the UK parliament discussion.

Woosh there is a long established special relationship between our two nations... often that of fractious siblings who share more than they wish to admit. But that was then. It would be open to a post brexit UK to seek to re-establish one, but as we would belong to different families we would need the agreement of our new family.

Tony....how can a Dutch Company service the bikes,it would be bad enough servicing locally....we all know that e-bikes are best owner ridden,if they are kept in a stable for everyone to ride they would be poorly treated.
I was offered to tender for the Met police and Lewisham council,the terms and conditions were so onerous on the seller that I didnt bother....actually I dont think anyone bothered.
Look at the maintenance problems of Boris/Santander normal bikes.

I don't think Southend were going to let everyone use them like boris bikes. They were going to be given to local businessmen to encourage their employees to cycle. I think.

He subcontracted the PDI and servicing to a local bike shop, somebody I know well.

So the tax payer in the UK got the best deal... what's not to like??

They might be employing a number of people locally to service the bikes, so it could actually benefit the UK more than you supplying bikes. UK tax payer got a cheaper deal, so its win win for UK isn't it?
