I am concerned that Theresa May is determined, for her own political future,to take us out of the EU,whatever the cost to our economy.
As a true dictator she is blackmailing Parliament that they would be undemocratic if they shoot down her 'Great Repeal Bill',yet it is May who is really being undemocratic.
Her own goal seems to be control of immigration, which ironically no government has been able to control non EU immigration, which it already has the power to do so.
She seems to cast aside problems with NI,Scotland and Gibraltar, ignores possible tariff barriers between the UK and EU,problems of xenophobia, possible lack of inward investment, destruction of our car industry, destruction of the city of London banking industry....all for paranoia over immigration....is immigration such a bad thing?
KudosDave.

The European Union
What I don't get is this "get rid of EU law" thing. EU law is mostly about customer, environmental and worker protection. Now if they aren't a good thing in the UK best we get rid of you as quick as possible and stop buying your products. Is that the message you want to get across?

like many things about brexit, the objectives are confusing, the Great Repeal won't repeal anything because its effect is to convert all EU laws into ours.
Brexit will get the Brits to confront reality. Can they do the jobs that are currently done by EU migrants or will they simply hand them over to other immigrants? Can they revive manufacturing or will they resign to buy Chinese?

Now that Brexit is sorted, who is the favourite to lift the glitter ball trophy on Strictly Come Dancing? I've got my eye on Judge Rinder, I think there is a lot more to come from him. And he's a reality telly judge too!

Hollyoaks star Danny Mac is a definite contender as well.

We live in exciting times.

There will be no revival of industry as the money has long been invested in China and the far East.
That is our big problem.

Well I don't know about you, but I'm excited. Not only is Strickly looking likely to be a corker this year, Mrs May has made good too!
Well she certainly conned the plebs by rubber stamping the EU laws, it was a great move to kid them, wasn't it?

Looks like post austerity,Hammond will compensate businesses for any losses they incur as a result of trade barriers being erected post Brexit, just seems the Treasury now has a pot of gold that will compensate everyone who loses out over Brexit...the Scots, the farmers,Gibraltar,Nissan,Honda,US bankers, research all have been offered compensation if we leave the single market.

It may surprise you to learn I don't drink Alcohol, nothing against anyone else doing it but this old body is too far gone to take liberties with!

Nissan will see that as great news, as they will trust us far enough to take the compensation long enough to build a new factory in the EU!
It gets dafter by the day
Brexit? just say NO.
Who would trust a Government that refused to support the Steel industry to keep it's word?
They would have to be stupid to do that!
And did I hear something about Tax cuts too? and how are we going to pay for all these wonderful things?
I'll bet we could threaten the EU that if they don't give us a Golden Handshake to pay for all this, we won't leave... that should worry them!.

My two pennorth in the Guardian on the Chancellor's promises
"
Where will all the money come from to fulfil all that has been promised, can anyone answer that simple question?
The answer is NO, because none of the things being promised are ever going to become reality.
We are wrecking our future over the result of nothing more substantial
than a Public opinion Poll, among a population that had been lied to for so long it could no longer recognise the truth if it tripped over it, and lashed out at the target presented quite falsely as it's tormentor, instead of it's true enemy, our own incompetent Politicians.
The rest of the world has long thought the British Mad

So now we are going to prove it ."

Lower and lower we go, now our soldiers will be free to murder and torture at will.
No better than the SS
This of course pre-supposes that the airmen, sailors and soldiers within the British Armed Forces have a predilection for torture and murder.

I work alongside many retired Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Army personnel and they are, without exception, very decent, intelligent and hard working people.

I think your comment illustrates how strongly a hatred of all things British has taken hold of you. You seem to be consumed by a very unpleasant bitterness. Maybe you have had an experience which has made you angry, but you shouldn't extend that toward others who are doing a very dangerous job.

Ive done my share of trauma work with ex soldiers(mostly mod). Mostly complex trauma rather than ptsd. Most had self selected the kind of life mod service abroad in a war situation offers because of what freud called repetition compulsion, better the devil you know,or a reality of surviving often harsh, abandoning circumstance. For most this goes with anger, mostly about more than the immediate reality. Sometimes this is accompanied by acting out, including unwarranted violence, against civilians. British soldiers are no different from other soldiers in this regard

the Pound keeps falling this morning, now reaching new low since the referendum. People with cash will have to move their cash into the stock market, causing a bubble that will be burst at some time.
