Second all recent sentiments. It has been a good thread.
I walked to polling station, about 2 miles. Gardens all manicured, window cleaners talking on ladders, pretending to clean windows. Cars stopping at zebra crossings and drivers letting others out at T junctions. All seemed so organised and British. Long may it continue, whatever the vote.
I wont be going back to Spain ,France or Greece anytime soon.
I shall be going in the next few minutes
We are living in an historic moment aren't we?:)

I have played my part in todays historic one off vote certainly I think in my life time but wonder what the turn out will be that bother to vote out of the 46.5 million that could vote.

turnout: 67%-70%
remain: 60%
leave: 40%

those are my guesses based on bookies' probability that currently put leave at just 14% to win. Current odds are remain: 1/10 leave: 6/1. Still time to bet.
TBH, I believe it's better to wait 5 or 10 more years before revisiting this question. I'd like to see two or three ring Europe.

I agree, I posted previously that I thought the turnout would be over 60%, and even a bit over 70% wouldn't surprise me. There's far more interest in this than in a general election.

The only turnout problem I can see is the weather, with showers forecast between 5 pm and 8 pm in my area.

I also see a remain win.

Farage is not lucky this time.
Ukip stronghold (Essex & Suffolk) is properly soaked.
The last debate on Channel 4 last night, hosted by Paxman, attracted 1.6m viewers. The barometers (from the undecideds in the room) showed remain on about 55% and leave on 34%.

I'm off to Nice in a few weeks, it has been a lovely summer here so far, but I'm prepared to put up with hookers on plastic chairs (not to mention face lifts and hair implants in that neck of the woods) for the sake of a 23C ocean and some proper food and cappuccino

I really don't know why flud is obsessed with the hookers. It's like judging the English by their football hooligans. One was interviewed by French TV a few days ago. He told the camera: the EU don't know our drinking laws, we can drink outside in the streets if we want. **** the EU. I'll vote out.

edit: One (tatooed English)

crikey, didn't know French hookers were doing interviews on TV about EU drinking laws ( must confess there is a lewd part of my psyche that could get used to a laissez faire Europe, hookers and all

aaah, I see. but it could have been much more interesting if one was a tattooed French hooker, they also have very strong opinions.

Exchanged all my savings into dollars with the favourable exchange rate.

Hedging my bets on the USA to raise interest rates after the vote.

I think the Pound could get back to $1.52 -$1.53 by Monday.
Latest poll Populus online gave remain 10 point lead, ComRes gives remain 8 points.

Let's have a bit more faith among the Brexit supporters
I remain convinced of a major victory for them with a commanding majority.
I don't like the idea one bit, but still feel that as a nation we are drawn like moths to a flame to any situation where we can see ourselves battling against the world with the odds against us.
And we feel they have somehow done the dirty on us.

On a mischievous note, I wonder how many postal votes came in with a Romanian stamp on the envelope. ;)
.
How about this for mischief then
I wonder if Putin has set aside some Vodka and a corset as he sits up to watch this evenings poll results come in?
The corset is to prevent a rupture from him laughing by the way!o_O

I don't share your optimism for a BREXIT victory. I think many people will, "bottle it" in the voting booth and that will lead to a victory for remain.
