Theresa May says that she doesn't want our quitting the EU to be referred as a divorce settlement because it suggests the mess that follows a divorce.
Does she know something we don't ?
KudosDave
Upon consideration is suggest
"Mugging Double Whammy"
Might be a better description, on two counts

The UK Government will be Mugged by the EU
Then we the public will be mugged by the UK Government.

Simples"

So negative. So pessimistic. Be of good cheer my friend. There is no cliff. We are not going to fall off anything. Hold on tightly to your balls, look deeply into the eyes of your God and praise our collective ability to pull this thing off. And remember - there's pretty much nothing you personally can do about it either way - so there's always going to be somebody else to blame if it all goes spectacularly wrong.
Your missive reminded me of the scene at the start of "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines"
Red Skelton, cackling madly shakes out a pair of home made wings and approaches the edge of the clifftop, and leaps off
The Narrator intones smoothly and triumphantly

"Encouraged by these Early successes Man kept trying!"

And the camera pans down
To a Man shaped Hole in the Beach.

As you have pointed out, you don't have to be stupid to Believe Brexit will be a success, and while that is very true, it won't constitute a noticeable disadvantage if you are.

Unfortunately the Daily Mail has just won the "Newspaper of the Year" award. As weirdly inappropriate an award as any I've ever known.

Link
.
I suspect it was in a contest on Building sites for it's suitabilty as toilet paper.
Did you know that there was actually a British Standard for flushing toilets that required them to leave no more that two 7"by 5" torn sheets when tested with ten crumpled sheets and three eleven litre flushes?

Modern loos flush far less water so the test is obsolete, but once out ot the EU, the test and the Daily Mail could make a comeback!

Tell me, what more fitting use for the Daily Heil could there be?
Instant Karma.... omm omm:p

Shocking! Almost as unbelievable as the fact that people actually pay money to read that disgusting publication.

Tom
It's rather like the notice at the entrance of every Building Site in the land
"An award winning Development"
But somehow the origin of the Award is never explained, or what it was for.

You've really got that wrong, the country wasn't involved in this city games institution.

It was the London Olympics, organised by London, the only truly successful part of the UK which supports the rest. And we voted to remain in the EU because we do know what we are doing.
.
london supports the rest of the uk, lol.

Some more obstacles for Mrs May...
12 police investigations have spent 10 months and now passing papers to the DPP,this is concerning overspend on election campaigning,19 seats involved....these include South Kent, the most corrupt region in the country. Farage has said he intends to contest the seat again, hehe.

Gina Miller, remember her,is going back to the courts again to ensure that parliament has a proper vote on the outcome of Brexit negotiations.

The EU has said that it cannot start Brexit negotiations before June 20,should have left it 3 days then would be exactly one year since the referendum vote.
Don't forget they need 6 months at the end,so that leaves only 15 months to reach a deal, looks like we are falling out of the EU.....except......
David Davis has not a clue how to start Brexit negotiations and when we are finished he hasn't a clue of how the economy will cost post Brexit.

Hammond didn't seem to realise that he had broken an election pledge when he increased C4 NIC.

Started well,I don't think so...actually it hasn't started well because we haven't sent A50,surely she won't bottle out now,the Scotish referendum should not have delayed the triggering.....do we think she is losing her nerve, maybe the enormity of the mistake is getting to her or she is not up to the task,or both.
KudosDave

Hopefully the French will show as much commonsense when they vote shortly.

Government has not assessed impact of leaving EU with no deal
David Davis tells MPs analysis of potential economic fallout has not been carried out since he became Brexit secretary"

Clever stuff: we are told that leaving with no deal is better than a bad deal, but have no idea what that would mean.

Downing Street and Liam Fox fall out over student immigration statistics
Chancellor Philip Hammond and Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson have also signalled support for removing students from migration data
Downing Street has rushed to shut down yet another cabinet row about overseas students, after Liam Fox indicated he thinks they should be removed from official immigration statistics.

Theresa May’s spokesman said her decision to keep recording foreign students within the figures remains in place, following the International Trade Secretary’s comments this morning.

Dr Fox said to MPs at a hearing in Parliament that he had told Home Secretary Amber Rudd the country should not “underestimate the value” students brought to the UK.

The Brexit Voters are going to ask what happened to controlling numbers then? is there any group that will be controlled or was it all a lie?

Another rare occasion when I agree with you. This is shocking negligence and it's inexcusable. They must anticipate every scenario as far as possible and it's likely consequence. How can you plan a negotiating strategy, or even negotiate at all, if you don't know the likely consequence of the decisions that you will be required to take. This sort of thing is on the curriculum for day one, lesson one of the Complete Tosser's Guide to Negotiation course. It makes you weep.

Fair play for admitting your concerns. I hope now you can see a tiny amount of why so many have been concerned for some time.

The vote was always about, do you want what we've currently got, with the potential to change it, or do you want to leave.

The "leave" option has never had a plan, and now it appears its even worse than we suspect, not only is there no plan, there is no idea what the impact of the lack of plan is. Its a mess, and indeed does make people weep.

People weren't able to vote for anything, they were simply voting against things, which has led us to this mess.

They'll be telling us next that it's good for the economy, good for business and good for Britain!

The huge sums that our private schools and universities charge foreign students never goes anywhere near the exchequer - only the investors in private schooling enterprises and our universities get richer. Special charitable status and interesting tax breaks make sure of that.

DD answered candidly. The no deal option has been assessed by the Treasury before the referendum.
I think there is still plenty of time to go back to the Treasury's model nearer to the time when no deal is a real possibility.

The Dutch are only 13% "populist" it seems, so they will be staying in the EU.

an interesting explanation, why we are where we are.
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/mar/15/brexit-was-an-english-vote-for-independence-you-cant-begrudge-the-scots-the-same

"There is almost no purchase on this from progressives beyond telling Brexiters that their feelings are the wrong feelings. Parts of the left have tried over the years to talk of a sense of Englishness, or of belonging, or of a civic identity, or of what a post-imperial country may be, or how Englishness has changed. The talk has been sneered at because patriotism is déclassé, and to enter this territory is “rightwing”. Thus the right has come to absolutely own it."
