Would I notice much difference if I upgraded to the AMD chip? Does it just plug into my existing computer? It has a serial and a parallel port, so all bases are covered. I was thinking of going for a 486 66MHz machine, but now you’ve made me wonder if there is something even better than that. How do the two compare please?
Back in the day, we bought a lot of AMDs for their lower cost, and too often they burned out, whereas Intels oulived their motherboards several times - not a single burn-out. I've never bought AMD CPUs since, no matter how good they look on paper.no as to get the temps down you will need to de lid it and that voids the warranty and other cpus 5000 had there memory controllers burn out because of heat.
the ihs is 1.2mm to thick so it can use the older am4 coolers
They'll be able to export "Low power" CPUs to China... then sell them features if relations ever improve. Each new CPU + factory/retool costs over $1 billion, they'll save money making fewer CPU hardware versions. Remote obsolescence control could be built in - they could kill your CPU to force upgrade.Paid Intel Xeon features for software-defined silicon reveal
