yet my 400w batt from 2014 is now down to less than 5 miles every battery will die and loose capacity over time the same as every electric motor bearings wear out and need replacing. and on tesla motors thats every 100k.

like i said plenty of tesla motors on ebay as new batts from tesla cost more than the cars worth in just 8 years and good luck getting one out of warranty that is brand new lol.

That's e-bike batteries, they work hard all the the time. E-car batteries in today's heavy traffic conditions and on our UK roads rarely get any chance to work hard for more than a few minutes.

E-car batteries used with a home fast charger and/or slow charger and avoiding rapid and ultra rapid chargers as much as possible just go on for ever, especially if not run down to empty.

My Leaf battery at just over four years old is still showing exactly the same capacity and has the same range as when I first bought it in 2018. I mainly charge it at about 40% of content left and use the fast charger (circa 4 hrs back to full from 40%) or slow charger (circa 12 hrs back to full from 40%) alternately, both giving the battery a very easy life.

I wont ever be buying a new battery for the Leaf.

I’d just like to ask people not to get excited / outraged about sending brown coloured dinghy men to Rwanda. It won’t happen, it can’t happen and there is no intention on the government’s part to make it happen. Fat-Arse Patel in incapable of taking a dump without a grown up being present to make sure she doesn’t injure herself. There is no way on Earth she could organise the transportations to Africa.

This story has only been resurrected to stop you noticing what a dishonest, cowardly pile of shite & blubber we have as Prime Minister.

Although it makes me think about previous two energy companies, who both "misread" my smart meter, naturally in their favour, before recognising their "mistake" after I referred them to the ombudsman with some legalise from which legal. All an unfortunate error you see, and one guaranteed to be repeated at least another dozen times if I don't **** off to calabria to live off a standalone solar setup..
I've heard Rwanda has lots of sun.

Another thing. A few months / years down the line l, when we have a large pool of brown men warehoused in Rwanda, what happens when their asylum applications fail? Where do they go?

As I’ve said, this crazy policy won’t happen, but if it did we will be constructing a massive problem for the future.

Just listening to Johnson throwing offal to the wolves. We are definitely going to gorge on this asylum meat and forget about the partying.

Job well done.

That was just about my first thought.

If we deposit them in Rwanda, we take on much responsibility. Such as making sure they are fed, watered, medicated.

Seems we have already committed £120 million.

I the real world, £120,000,000 won’t touch the sides. This £120,000,000 is from the Operation Save Big Dog budget. The transportations won’t happen. Just listened to Johnson, it was a speech full of fuckall made by stunt in a £2000 suit.

But it is a lot of money for nothing - which is what we have currently received from it.

The £120 mil of our money has been spent to divert attention from the party situation and the fact that the Prime Minister has misled Parliament. If they can pull off Operation Save Big Dog for £120,000,000 I think that’s cheap. I think they’ll do it too. Credit where it’s due, they can take the public for mugs with astonishing ease and they keep coming back for another punch in the face. It’s quite incredible.

Why do you think this cynical lot chose Rwanda? Because it could be self solving problem since it's where they really know how to do genocide. A reminder from history, showing how they deal with minorities there:

"The Rwandan genocide, also known as the genocide against the Tutsi, occurred between 7 April and 15 July 1994 during the Rwandan Civil War. During this period of around 100 days, some 800,000 members of the Tutsi minority ethnic group, as well as some moderate Hutu and Twa, were killed by armed Hutu extremist militias."

rwanda is an oddball country - since the genocides of the 90's it's been an african success story with circa 10% annual growth and much increased stability, security, actual participatory democracy. all this goes under the radar in europe and it wouldn't work for me (it's landlocked and i quite like the ocean). And i have no idea why they agreed to what sounds the most neocolonialial harebrained tory scheme yet

There's an impending world food shortage which will probably affect Africa most. Hopefully they don't see long pig as the solution. ;)

it's good money, and it does not do their reputation any harm.
It's the UK's reputation that is at risk. The UK wants in reality economic migrants but tries to deny it.
Turkey and previously Libya take EU's money to do the same thing.

I'm finding it quite bizarre to read of a tory MP acting in a relatively decent way.

A Conservative MP found guilty of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy has announced he is resigning from the Commons.
Imran Ahmad Khan, who has represented Wakefield since 2019, said he was appealing against the conviction.
But he added it was "intolerable" for his constituents not to be represented properly while he goes to the courts.

Absolutely agree, it is intolerable not to have an MP who can act for their constituents.

The circumstances of his resignation are clearly another matter.
