I spoke to someone in work this morning who commented that a couple of people had come down with shingles (and others are off with various other milder afflictions) - and I remembered this post.
Hmmm. I recall a warning some time ago that one of the side effects of the covid vaccinations is that your general immune system gets suppressed more and more with each booster, and so we should expect to see an increase of other autoimmune based illnesses.
IIRC, isn't shingles one of those things where many people have a virus, continually lingering in your body, mostly dormant - kept in check by your natural immune system. But then in periods of some kind of immuno-suppression or other triggering, it can flare up again (kind of like a cold sore on your lip I guess?).
What really concerned me though, was at the same time as the above warning, the doctors that were discussing it were also talking about how the body is constantly fighting off and destroying cancerous cells each and every day, and they were concerned that this natural process is also going to get suppressed. So while things like shingles are no laughing matter, when I heard that, I really got worried
