Do I really need to explain that? How does a ball being caught in a net four times have any relevance to Brexit?

I think it was an example of "English irony" (sic). It's very ironic. Almost as ironic as amputating ones left foot with a blunt butter knife in the Albert hall and joking about what a great one legged dancer one has become.Yes!
Given that the government is set on abandoning all Covid precautions, the obvious likely outcome is a rise in cases. OK, it is claimed that those with full vaccination are less likely to need hospital treatment, but the numbers who do need admission are probably going to be considerable. What progress has been made in treating Covid in such cases?Does anyone know if Parliament will be fully reopening after 19/07? No masks, no social distancing, sitting shoulder to shoulder and that sort of thing?
I’m curious to know if the scrapping of all measures intended to protect us is just for the little people, and the important people will continue to have options to protect themselves.
The words "four years" always resonate:4 days after the referendum:
England 1 Iceland 2
Insult to Democracy
The forces are gathering. They didn't get the result they wanted so have chucked their toys out of the pram and are plotting to overturn the result. Seems that people like Blair are even involved. I don't think he is a politician now is he. A lot of people voted for leave because they feel...www.pedelecs.co.uk
4 years after the referendum:
England 4, Ukraine 0
Brexit, for once some facts.
.. How could that be viewed as critical ..I said Brexit was fantastic ... As in the stuff of fantasy... I am slowly learning this English trait of irony. Imagine you meant that ironically (the English are too inflated, dense to get how ironic they are)www.pedelecs.co.uk
Was the inspiration that made the change possible due to Brexit feeling, or was it just a far better manager? Who knows?
.
Turning up for their job is optional in parliament for MPs, Sinn Fein for example never physically took a seat that was won.Does anyone know if Parliament will be fully reopening after 19/07? No masks, no social distancing, sitting shoulder to shoulder and that sort of thing?

This government is under the impression that retreating defeated against an implacable foe is a good ideaGiven that the government is set on abandoning all Covid precautions, the obvious likely outcome is a rise in cases. OK, it is claimed that those with full vaccination are less likely to need hospital treatment, but the numbers who do need admission are probably going to be considerable. Have we stocked up on antibodies such as in the Regeneron cocktail?
Have we stocked up on Remdesivir - or something similar?
Are there any other treatments available which we are getting ready? (I know of some and, due to my special interest, use of thyroid hormone might be of critical importance though research is still progressing. It is a complicated area in which what might initially appear obvious could flip several times before getting onto a solid grounding.)
(I know we might use dexamethasone - but supplies of that are more likely available.)
A fair number of those who had relatively mild Covid have gone on to long Covid, how much attention has been paid to those cases? Collecting a few numbers, it appears that almost a million in the UK are suffering long Covid with around 400,000 suffering for over a year. Are we prepared for a major increase?
Depending on who to believe, there have been of the order of 5 million known cases of Covid. Doubling that leaves over 50 million not yet infected. Of whom many will be children. But if we end up in a let it rip situation, the numbers going on to suffer long Covid could be awful.
The inference we are supposed to draw being that if we are diligent students and do this learning properly, all will be well.Turning up for their job is optional in parliament for MPs, Sinn Fein for example never physically took a seat that was won.
The statement "We will have to learn to live with Covid" is incomplete. Here's the unsaid complete version:
We will have to learn to live with Covid.
We will have to suffer Covid illness from time to time as we do 'flu.
Some of us will have to learn to suffer and live with long term Covid.
We will have to learn that Covid deaths will be as routine as deaths from cancer and heart attacks.
.
might take us a generation to get the upper hand in this fight..This is total war We either destroy the virus completely Or face millions of deaths and disabilities in the future,
There is some truth in this, blame China. The inference we are supposed to draw being that if we are diligent students and do this learning properly, all will be well.
The impossibility of dealing with this situation is simply because of the sort of idiots that get voted into positions where they can prevent effective actionThere is some truth in this, blame China.
They have handled Covid-19 brilliantly, to the extent that researchers even in the Wuhan area where it originated had difficulty finding samples.
If we cannot eliminate Covid in our advanced western countries, we certainly cannot eliminate Covid worldwide. And if it remains worldwide it is not eliminated anyway and will frequently return.
So given the impossibility of this situation, we will increasingly see the new UK "Live with it" attitude spread in the West, justified by China's excellent handling of covid due to the discipline of their population:
.China COVID - Coronavirus Statistics - Worldometer
China Coronavirus update with statistics and graphs: total and new cases, deaths per day, mortality and recovery rates, current active cases, recoveries, trends and timeline.www.worldometers.info
Ironically it was the end of food rationing that caused the popularity of Chicken, as it was not possible to increase the production of red meat to meet the new level of demand for meat by the public.might take us a generation to get the upper hand in this fight.
Corona viruses are hard to beat because as a society, we eat a lot of chickens. Chickens are natural reservoir for corona viruses.
I expect the overall outcome will be for the better. So given the impossibility of this situation, we will increasingly see the new UK "Live with it" attitude spread in the West, justified by China's excellent handling of covid due to the discipline of their population:
Switch to guinea fowl, I say. And pheasant.might take us a generation to get the upper hand in this fight.
