Yes, it is a specialism which requires further skills and training for the nurses.

I think the ExCel in London had 2000 beds. Where did they think all the medical staff were coming from? I believe they’ve turned it back into an unusable conference centre now.
Should they introduce ICU nursing as a mandatory subject in our schools? Ready for future waves. A-levels in intubation. Highers in patient turning.

It was 4000 beds but with two mortuaries, demonstrating the authorites are realistic at times.

The Nightingales with mortuaries included were always a waste of money, obviously intended as holding pens pending death for the excess of Covid-19 patients over hospital capacity.
.
Sort of Terminal transit camps, eh flecc?

What does this remind you of?
Updated map of countries banning UK flights (correct as of 2:30pm).

The sun seems to have finally set on whatever the Brexit voters imagine we still are!

You jest - but Daily Mail has got it in their head that unqualified student nurses should staff the Nightingale hospitals inc 1st years with only 3 months study and with little or no experience yet on wards placements.

Probably because they already have uniforms for placements, and that'd be cheap to use (as they'd be surviving on student loans and have to pay back the govt for what they do.)

Tomorrow's Daily Mail front page proclaims: We're all heading for tier 4.

Idiots. Vast numbers are already in tier 4. So it most certainly isn't "all".

There must be a legal way to unseat this idiot
Well he did say he expected the blackage at Dover to be sorted out in a matter of "hours" and "that we can cope with any difficulties thrown our way" No wonder he was laughing.

Meanwhile... Lorry drivers stuck in Kent for a second night as they wait to cross the Channel have apparently been offered just a single cereal bar each.

Toilet facilities were also a "big issue" with concerns over health and cleanliness.

Send in Boris the bog brush....
