Let's not forget he just carried out the wishes of the people all decided on before he took over. Only Cameron wanted to stay, May sat on the pot till the last minute before deciding to follow everyone else and plump for leave, Boris just went whichever way the wind was blowing at the time. When he writes his memoirs I'm sure he'll come clean and admit staying was the best option. Back in 2013 most MP's & political parties thought remaining in the EU was the best option, knowing if we left there would be nothing but aggravation for years afterwards which is turning out to be correct. It will never be fully righted until we partially or fully return to the fold, all the time there's a channel tunnel we are physically connected whether Farage & co like it or not.
He may well end up saying he was just being pragmatic and neutralising the lunatic xenophobic fringe of the tories (in ways conservatives in USA couldnt). A bit like stalin might say about the pact with Hitler. I do not like boris's strain of corruption at all, but he is better than Farage and I dont think we will in effect, leave the eu

I think that really must get up Farage's nose, the fact that in reality we never will actually turn our backs on the EU. He's talked himself out of a job with nothing to show for it, even Trump didn't want him hanging around for too long in the US :D

Johnson chose his staff. Therefore, the responsibility lands with him. And it was his own performance that was dire.

An increasingly desperate Boris Johnson has ordered his staff to step up personal attacks on the Labour leader Keir Starmer and his record as a lawyer, as confidence in the prime minister’s leadership collapses among Tory party members.

The Observer has been told that Johnson was so furious after last Wednesday’s prime minister’s questions – where he was asked to withdraw comments he made about the Labour leader and the IRA by the Speaker, Lindsay Hoyle – that he turned on his staff for leaving him under-prepared, and asked them to come up with more attack lines on the Labour leader’s career as a lawyer.

Personal attacks on Starmer actually undermine Johnson.

I think it’s necessary. They are trying to prevent the distribution of news and people going about their lawful business. It’s my view that the newspapers in question are filled with rubbish, but preventing it being published is a step too far.

It’ now time for the police to move in with whips, clubs, baton rounds and gas. The protesters also need to be fast-tracked through the courts and sent to prison. The situation is out of hand and the majority of people hate these protesters. That hatred needs exploiting and used to crush any further action by theExtinction Rebellion scum.

Did they ever have control?

Coronavirus: fears UK government has lost control as cases soar

Labour calls on Matt Hancock to explain reasons behind increase and testing centre problems

The UK has recorded a massive rise in the number of people testing positive for coronavirus, amid concerns the government has lost control of the epidemic just as people are returning to work and universities prepare to reopen.

Labour has demanded the health secretary, Matt Hancock, give an urgent statement to the House of Commons to explain the increase and why some people are still being told to drive hundreds of miles to have a test.

On Sunday almost 3,000 people in the UK tested positive for Covid-19, a 50% increase in a single day and the highest daily total since May.

The second wave is coming. Bring out your dead.
Were back to exponential rises in infection (3k today) and Yvonne doyle, public health England's medical director, say its nationwide, not restricted to hotspots. And I France and Spain admissions of older people are rising after a period of increased infection among young. It's all a bit de ja vue (in two weeks everyone will be asking why boris wanted us to spend money on the way to work when he could see what was happening in europe)

Just "Why Boris?". The old "If Johnson is the answer, just what the hell was the question?"

That is perplexing enough.

Looks like no deal all the way...

Britain will walk out of Brexit talks if there is no deal agreed by the middle of October, Boris Johnson has announced — raising the chance that the UK will crash out of the single market with nothing to replace it.
Speaking ahead of yet another round of negotiations in London, the prime minister said there was “no sense in thinking about timelines that go beyond” a planned EU summit on 15 October because any further delay would mean an agreement was not in place by the end of the year.
“If we can’t agree by then, then I do not see that there will be a free trade agreement between us, and we should both accept that and move on,” Mr Johnson said — in his first major Brexit intervention since the start of negotiations in the spring.

The nationwide exponential rise in infection is easily solved. Replace Doyle with someone who will say it‘s confined to local and isolated outbreaks in return for some money and the promise of a title. There must be someone?

could it be the improving economy since that time (2013) leading to Cameron's second victory in 2015 that sowed the seeds for believing GB can do better outside the EU?
