Boris Johnson has been formally referred for potential investigation into whether he committed the criminal offence of misconduct in public office, over allegations about a conflict of interest with a US businesswoman while he was mayor of London.

An official from the Greater London Authority, the city’s devolved government, has written to the prime minister noting claims he had “on more than one occasion used your position as mayor to benefit and reward” Jennifer Arcuri, a tech entrepreneur.

“Subject to any explanation provided by you, these matters give rise to a suggestion that there has been a failure to safeguard the public purse and if so that amounts to a significant breach of public trust,” said the letter, from the office of the authority’s monitoring officer. “These are the ingredients of the offence of misconduct in a public office.”

I totally agree with and understand what you are saying. However, it seems like Prince Ginger is latching onto all the trendy, in vogue causes at the moment. “I’m going to throttle back on Royal Baby output, I can’t get out of bed due to whittling about the world, I’m going to put a giant condom on my head and pose by strolling in a previously cleared mine field”. Prior to all this, he held the post of, Tony Blair’s Prince in a Helicopter Gun Ship. This saw him dutifully machine gunning democracy into a bunch of rag-heads.

The backdrop to this depicts him and his wife private-jetting around the world, which he frets about so much, to attend mind-rotting events like a baby shower.

Both need to fade into the background and stop all of the “look at me” shenanigans. What’s going to be his next stunt, adopt that silly Grettle girl who had her childhood stolen in New York last week?

The timing is a bit suspect.

If he did behave improperly, which is more than likely, it should have been dealt with then, not “banked” for future use.

Apparently, Johnson may declare a State of Emergency giving, immediate fear of rioting if Brexit is not delivered, as the reason. This would allow him to legally ignore the anti-no deal legislation which was passed a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t see that coming.

So, have I got this correct ? The government is now taking its instructions via mob-rule and angry threats?

If he did behave improperly, which is more than likely, it should have been dealt with then, not “banked” for future use.
Partly, I agree and I can certainly imagine people looking for all the dirt they can find. But I suggest it is the recent grant that has brought her, her company, and the history to light. A new event often flushes out old stories which might otherwise not have seen the light of day again.

Despite Arcuri moving back to the US last year, this year her company Hacker House won a £100,000 cyber-skills grant intended to foster UK talent.

It would be a reason to provoke anger. Which could underlie their recent actions.

Yes, I believe Johnson’s antagonistic behaviour in the commons was a carefully choreographed stunt, calculated to appeal to and excite the knuckle draggers. From the comments section in the Mail, it seems to be working a treat. He plays them so easily, Johnson & Co. are master craftsmen when it comes to this sort of thing, it’s almost beautiful.

He can do that.
The 'Benn' Act won't trigger until 19-October.
Bojo can keep the key to No 10 until 02-November if he manages to split the rebel alliance on the subject of JC becoming PM.

I don't think they can get behind anyone to be PM at the moment.
A national unity government needs 2 months to organise a GE and handover to a new PM.

Meanwhile, parliament's top objective at the moment remains unchanged, to deliver brexit.
Putting a remainer in No 10 will make Farage's day.
I think parliament is desperate to link acceptance of any deal to a confirmatory referendum as soon as possible but there is just no time for it.
If they don't go for a VONC now, Dominic Cummings may win in the chaos, letting Bojo free to get over the line with no deal.
If they go for a VONC now, they will have to have GE first, and if the brexiters win a majority in that GE, they'll cancel a second referendum.
The rebels' best move is still to extend A50 as soon as possible.

It keeps coming back to Farage, he’s always there keeping the Tory’s feet to the fire. All main parties know that whilst ever Farage is around, they have to deliver Brexit or face having their vote split.

I’m genuinely surprised that he hasn’t been “Dr David Kellied” before now. It would solve many government problems.

Is there a geographically contiguous area of the UK, even just of England, that could be regarded as pro-brexit? Stoke-on-Trent?

Any mileage in creating a leave enclave (think Kaliningrad)? Leaving (ha!) the rest of us to peacefully remain?

If the theory is right, that Bojo is funded by 'billionaire venture capitalists' betting on WTO brexit, he's not bringing back a deal, he'll blame the EU and 'our own traitors' instead.
He'll win the GE then negotiate an FTA with immediate GATT A24.
The rebels chance to remove him has a very small window of opportunity and they need 100% unity to succeed. They have to somehow let him run the show, force him to bring back a deal and pass his deal before removing him!

Bang on target. It will be a reheated May’s deal with a bolt-on lie concerning the back stop. It will be an easy sell, Johnson will be a Churchillian hero, the Brexidiots will love him, and then he will have licence to $h!t all over them when they vote him in with a big majority. Their dads fought in the war so that Johnson could reduce them to this.

BORIS JOHNSON could use a state of emergency to ram through a no-deal Brexit, Remainer Dominic Grieve has suggested.

The prime minister could turn to the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 which gives ministers the right to suspend the rule of law for up to 30 days if a tumultuous situations threatens the stability of the UK. According to the Act, the country would have to be faced with “an event or situation which threatens serious damage to human welfare” or “serious damage to the environment of the United Kingdom or of a part of the region”.

I wonder if any of these idiots have considered what the remainer backlash could be?
And just how small a disturbance BJ and co would regard as justification?
Time for parliament to table a motion curtailing that Act!
They could modify it so it needed a majority vote in Parliament
