And hopefully Corbyn would just follow the EU rules that suited us, Just like France, Spain and Hungary etc do already.
I can't see why not. It's the very principle of 'subsidiarity' that John Major reckoned he's got it sussed.

Most outrageous statement so far from Johnson
Boris Johnson admits government refused to grant £150 million bailout to historic travel company.

Rescue package would create "moral hazard" for other businesses , says PM
Can this be the same man who stands accused of giving money to some female friend?

Apparently personal "Moral Hazards" don't count.
However if ever there was a warning to anyone in business, this must a be a classic example.
after all Boris did say F***K business did he not?

Such a virtuous man, pure as driven slush on the M25

You are totally missing what fantastic news the collapse of Thomas Cook is. Like Brexit, this collapse and the loss of thousands of jobs is a wonderful opportunity. Whilst presiding over the collapse, the CEO has benefited to the tune of £8 500 000 for example. What a splendid opportunity that was. It gets better, rival airlines are now able to charge customers over £1000 for £200 Thomas Cook flights.

And what about the customers and the now redundant ex-Thomas Cook employees I hear you ask. They have Dunkirk spirit to see them through. This is a great nation. Balls to the bank recalling the mortgage or the £1000+ rip off flights, their grandads fought in the war.

This same spirit will see us through Brexit when the CEOs of U.K. PLC line their pockets, people lose their jobs (but gain Dunkirk spirit) and corporations can fleece us to make a quick killing. You simply refuse to see that everyone gains something. And, most importantly, our ancestors fought in the war.

Wondering what will happen at 10:30 this morning? Looks like he is getting in his bluster before the verdict.

Boris Johnson refuses to rule out suspending parliament again
PM says adverse supreme court ruling would not stop him proroguing parliament again

Boris Johnson has refused to rule out suspending parliament again if the supreme court rules on Tuesday that he abused his powers as prime minister in doing so earlier this month.

The British prime minister, who is in New York for a UN summit, also indicated he would not feel obliged to resign if the justices rule he misled the Queen in his reasons for suspending parliament.

would you be surprised if the polls confirm that the more Bojo attacks our parliament, the more popular/populist Bojo becomes and he opens up his lead on JC?

And of course there was a profit for some

Thomas Cook crisis: Hedge funds made record profits on company's collapse as firm folded
INTERNATIONAL hedge funds who shorted Thomas Cook shares have made enormous profits from its collapse by betting against the travel giant’s efforts to find a deal to save the world’s oldest travel operator from going bust.
But as a result of the collapse CDS payouts are now expected to reach $250m (£201m),

At last, you are starting to see the positives. Sometimes, seemingly bad things come along and thousands of people suffer, but this is always balanced out by one or two people gaining massively. You should take comfort in this fact over your concerns regarding Brexit. Yes, many thousands of people will suffer, but their grandfathers fought in the war, so try to focus on the handful of people who will gain £millions, and think what a wonderful opportunity it is for them.

Wipe that spittle off your screen and wipe your lips.

You are frothing at the mouth sir.

How could you have been so stupid to vote leave?

Lun Polly knew what was going to happen and they decided to go bust long before Brexit. Same as Monarch.

They were the smart ones I guess?

I’m sorry, but I may not be available to respond to the thread today, I’m on the phone to the police reporting a crime of theft. There is a child called Grettle Thumbupbum preaching to mentally ill people about climate change. Unfortunately, whilst delivering her sermon, someone has stolen her childhood. I’m sure a constable will investigate.

she has made a good point about the fairytales of everlasting economic growth that politicians peddle to get votes.
apparently, reports suggest that level of atmospheric CO2 has gone up 20% in the last 5 years. That geometric progression will kill us all in maybe less than a century.

It will take a major global climatic event to change anything. Such as a major drought. Or forest fires that block out the sun for months at a time.

Even then it will more likely mean a war than actual change with countries working together.

It’s sad that I’m so cynical over this but it’s how I see it.

I see
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/sep/24/no-evidence-leave-eu-and-arron-banks-broke-law-says-agency-brexit

But the facts are that these people used the money to employ psi ops persuasive methods against a targetted group their Software had identified using stolen information

How silly thinking the problem was only concerned with money.
But then you are easily swayed aren't you?
There was indeed a conspiracy, and it is still running every day
You would have to be thick as a brick not to understand that.

And this paragraph is interesting
"“There have also been media reports alleging that Mr Banks has been involved in other criminality related to business dealings overseas. The NCA neither confirms nor denies that it is investigating these reports.”
