So the real story is one of intimidation of Boris and his partner by anti Breexit ground floor neighbours. The Champaign socialist anti Brexit neighbours have been intimidating Boris and his girlfriend with posters and personal insults in their own home. The pressure has built up and the Boris and his girlfriend had an argument in the frustration of it all. Their neighbours saw a chance trid to smeare Boris and called the police. The police turned up, investigated and saw nothing wrong, no laws broken, no allegations made and took no action. So basically a nasty anti Brexit neighbour is the issue and Boris and his girlfriend did nothing wrong."

'neighbours from hell'

Boris and Carrie should share a mirror. Then they'll know what neighbours from hell look like.

I have lived next-door to a woman and, over the years, more than one male, who had extreme arguments. Yes, requiring calls to police, yes, waking us up, yes, would have recorded what I could easily hear (if I had thought to do so).

We simply did not know if the loud bangs were things being thrown, impacts against walls, human being collapsing. The stress levels when you are subject to that are horrible. Especially when we were already having to manage severe illness - which itself makes stress tend to zoom up.

Of course, as with police attending our neighbours, by the time they got there, there was nothing to see. They could not do an examination of someone unwilling to co-operate. The screams and shouts had faded.

As I implied in another response, imagine that sort of scene within Number 10.

But come down a level to production engineering /manufacture and picture isnt quite same.
Been case since I came out of Uni that if you want to make good money dont go into actual manufacture of anything.Buy it elsewhere and sell the stuff, it pays better than making it.
Or sell insurance and financial services.

I, m not convinced OG. I suspect DM is waging a campaign against Boris. They have made a meal over this incident. Front page yesterday. The whole issue is media led.
Couple have argument and female throws plate at wall. Hardly front page is it..

I have to agree with that assessment, it certainly looks that way, though in my wicked imagination the thought occurred that the penny had dropped with Boris that he might actually have to run the country and he and his girlfriend colluded to create a scene to make sure he escaped the job and responsibility attached to it.
Since he couldn't rely on Gove stabbing him in the back this time he had to resort to a bit of DIY

We didn't have a cat then - too near a significant road. And now we have one, or it has us, our neighbours are towards the "what neighbours" end of the scale with us hardly noticing them most of the time. In the good sense.

I have never come across that - though certainly seen it mentioned a few times.

As a "rescue" cat, ours arrived here as an adult and had to be kept in for a while (too scared - stayed two weeks under a sofa). But now she hardly ever uses her litter tray - it is only there for "emergencies" and if she is left indoors when we go out for a while. She far prefers going outside.

Not quite Flecc. Mercedes powerplants are built by Ilmoor Engineering, they have had a long relationship with Mercedes. Generally major manufacturers dont have facilties to cope with small numbers concerned. In old days Cosworth had just right size to produce runs required, everybody thought it was their design expertise, it was partly that but the small number of specialist bits they could make and profit from couldnt be replicated by for example Mercedes. (Cosworth made heads for tuned Mercs for years, and obviously for Ford)
I, d guess Renault/Ferrari based stuff are only powerplants built out of uk. All merc and McClaren was solely UK sourced, not sure since Honda got reinvolved.
