that program contains too many long words like 'rule based economy', 'regulatory alignment', 'economic growth', 'economy of the future', 'technology space' etc which do not mean much the the average person in the street.
To win the brexiters over, I think a direct experience is worth a thousand words.
Like bashing them over the head with a braid of garlic while screaming "no more fried mars bars"?

To gain their attention it would have to have impact equivalent to an oven cleaner lined/coated condom.

I see Boris Johnson is trying to avoid being PM - by getting censured for failing to declare property interest in Somerset. On top of his other transgressions. For once, let us hope he is successful.

"The committee dismissed Johnson’s claim that he had not fully understood the rules."

Not being able to understand the rules for declaring interests seems to suggest he hasn't the brains for any significant job, doesn't it? Perhaps that is his problem with the EU, he can't get his head round the rules. And it's not as if he couldn't employ someone on not much more than minimum wage to keep his declarations up to date and accurate.

He understands the rules just fine but they don't suit his huge apetite for money...

So will any interesting candidates stand in the UK's EU elections - if they do go ahead on May 23rd? Or will they all be make-weights filling the gaps?

Farage was "interesting" but what the EU needs is useful...

If you install a VPN on your computer you'll be able to mimic accessing from the UK or anywhere else.

He was being sarcastic.

It's OK though. The drip drip feed of our culture is a good thing.

He loves this country. He may even be a little obsessed with us.

It will be an interesting EU election for once.

Maybe even a proxy for a second ref depending on turnout

So it's now done.

We won't be leaving.

Time to stop the charade and admit we lost.

We were never going to leave. Its time to accept this.

We should now be looking to join the Euro.

We have been shown to be what we are. A cowardly country now only fit to ruled. Our own government has done this to us.

Short of a complete coup with the army and police on board we must now accept we are a free country in name only. We are Belgium. We are Ireland.

It's time to accept this.

Or perhaps having looked into a deep abyss , a sense of realism finally dawned. However we are not yet at the endgame. Let us assume that France and Belgium actually stick to their principles and say no extension,, beyond that which was agreed, is the PM required now by law, to put her Deal on the table for the fourth time, and to formally rescind Article 50 when it is again down voted?..
If she does that and a few diehards on this forum will disagree, but you will have dodged the bullet this time.
More likely the EU will offer some extension, and the game will play on a little more.

flexible extension to the end of the year seems to be the best next step.

no, it's not the government that has done this to us but 160 no deal MPs.
They still try to sell the voters a no plan no deal pup.
They have always known that their plan is illogical, won't stand up to any scrutiny and won't work. If no deal must be planned for, then the same logic requires that we also plan also for no deal ever with the EU after brexit. How does that work out for our future?

While I agree with our post, it's not just the government, the people of the UK share in the blame in so many ways.

Just look at the ways in which they are unwilling to work, reflected in our very low productivity:

We don't want to pick the crops we grow, too much like hard work and not enough wages, but we don't want to pay more for the crops either. Resolve that one!

We don't want to do care work, leaving it to foreigners, again too much like work and not enough wages, but we don't want to pay more for social care. Same impasse.

We have 22% of the population registered disabled, Germany with it's infinitely more successful economy has 13% registered disabled.

These and more are the reasons I've always known we would fail even worse as an independent nation, just as we did before we joined the EU.

So we should stop blaming the government alone and look in the mirror. A people get the government they deserve.

I think Theresa May is wanting the EU to make the dirty decision for her, so that she can blame them for a long extension to A50. She wants to outwardly appear as though we can wrap everything up and be out by the end of June, but knows that is not possible. The EU know this too, and will insist on a longer extension, thus saving face for Theresa May and opening the door for her to blame them.

I hope they give her the cold shoulder this week.

You can't say that! Have you seen how many messages we have had posted on here regarding the government's harsh treatment of disabled people. Making them take tests and undergo assessments before they can get their free money! Outrageous!!!

Many years ago, didn't Germany have a policy for dealing with the weak and disabled? :)

What a hateful little man you are.

So you think that the reason we weren’t allowed to leave is because we have disabled people in this country? You nasty fool. Think what you are saying you vile, spiteful idiot.

Here are the facts.
