on the economy, there is not much to be cheerful about since the 'unexpected result' of the referendum. Clearly, a majority of businesses simply did not expect brexit to win. Until a plan emerges, we now see the consequence of brexit uncertainty. I expect many sellers on here to postpone their new bike projects until then.
UK retailers report biggest fall in sales in 4 years after Brexit vote:

Price rises...I have to date pretty much avoided price rises due to the weak £ v $ and also weak £ v RMB.,I have good stocks and can hold prices until those stocks have to be renewed,
But yesterday I had to put a product up by 10% because the importer held minimal stocks and had to raise his prices immediately. Thats unfortunately the first of many.
Did the Leavers appreciate that the Leave vote was going to hit their pockets?
I must say I am surprised how quick these price rises are coming out of the system, there are a couple of others in the pipeline, the going rate seems 10%.

Ideal worlds don't just appear, they are created with effort by those with imagination.

Those who don't try, don't succeed.
.
Yep and folk have to endure what they cant change..thought you,d have learnt that...

Trying to get uk back to 50's with regards policing, safety and attitudes is at best unrealistic. You,ll be on a crusade for rest of your life...but good luck flecc...its in a good cause.

I'll never learn that since it isn't true. Not only can everything change, the one certainty is that everything does change over time.

You have totally the wrong idea, most of the 1950s is the very last place I want to go. Then England was a place of extreme bigotry, racism and narrow mindedness, where the policing I and others so often met was far worse than I complain of now. For example, the mandatory 30 mph speed limit without signs when lamp posts were within a certain distance of each other, even far out of town. The police in their Wolseleys hiding to exploit that law to trap all and any motorists or motorcyclists just for the brownie points of many court appearances and convictions.

I hate the past and this country's disgusting history, it's a different future that's my aim.

There speaks a man who has no idea of what life was like back then.
Typical!

Don't these people talk to each other....
Hammond was recently saying that when we Brexit there was a strong possibility of a free trade agreement with China.
Today,Theresa May and Liam Fox are suggesting that we should stay part of the EU Customs Union...that is that we can continue to trade with the EU tariff free but we have to accept EU import tariffs when trading with non EU countries.
So whats the difference to what we do now?,I thought one of the wonderful aspects of Brexit was that it removed the shackles of the EU and allowed us to forge our own deals with the rest of the world.
Looks like you Leavers have already had one of your key points negotiated away, wonder what is next?
What do Leavers think about that?
This whole fiasco is looking pointless,an expensive waste of time.
By the way the EU have put a Frenchman in charge of Brexit negotiations, thats like putting Trump in charge of race relations.

This is rather baffling
"The Government must urgently prepare for a possible surge in immigration ahead of Brexit while allaying fears over British and European citizens being used as “bargaining chips”, a Parliamentary report has warned.

The Home Affairs Committee predicted that expected attempts to limit migration after the UK leaves the European Union could drive a last-minute dash, as the highest ever number of asylum applications remain outstanding and a large quantity of visa cases wait to be processed. "

The two statements seem unrelated to each other, and you have to wonder why would a "surge" of EU citizens want to come here now anyway?

I'd wish him the best of luck with that. We've been talking with India about a possible trade agreement for eight years with no reported progress so far. Their main objective seem to be access for their IT specialists to come here, while what we want is access to sell them stuff. With such different objectives translators won't be necessary since there'll be no understanding anyway!

May and Hammond are for staying in the single market, Liam Fox is against joining the EU customs union. It would in fact make his job redundant.
The brexit ministers will now find out how hard it is to drum up business outside the EU.

May and Hammond are for staying in the single market,
And another sign that they are going to get their way:

Today London City Airport has been given the go-ahead for a £350 million expansion allowing many thousands of extra flights. This airport was created expressly for short take off and landing passenger planes to mainly serve the EU countries from London's business area, and that's largely what it will continue to serve. Only one plane model using it is capable of crossing the Atlantic.

That doesn't exactly sound like an intention to Brexit, more like one of expanding business with the EU.

Because EU citizens realise what you and the other moaners do not - the UK is one of the best places to live in the world, let alone in Europe.

Oh, and I see petrol has come down a few pence per litre.

Yet more evidence of economic meltdown.

For many people living here it was very far from being that or they wouldn't be living below the poverty level
http://www.ifs.org.uk/publications/7880
And most of those are in work!
"
Almost a third of the UK population fell below the official poverty line at some point between 2010 and 2013, figures show.

Around 19.3 million people - 33% - were in poverty at least once, compared with 25% of people across the EU, the Office for National Statistics found."
Have you been living on Mars?
This is disgraceful for a so called first rate nation, it only looks good if you compare it with some of the less developed regions, and don't forget, the Brexiters are determined to make life miserable for any immigrants aren't they?
You really don't understand what is happening before your eyes do you?
The UK will be no place for an immigrant to live, or for that matter our indigenous population will it?
By the way most of these people prefer to eat than buy petrol.

People are living below the poverty level in many Eu countries and don't look like seeing any improvement any time soon. Meanwhile the EU keeps wasting hundreds of millions every year for instance moving the whole shooting match to Strasbourg. That's just one example. I'm sure there are many more

Perhaps you failed to read this bit?

Which means they are far better off in the EU than we are, doesn't it?
How can you dismiss the difference between 33% and 25%?

Do you imagine in your wildest dreams that a Conservative Government that created a situation where the poverty rate is 33% is suddenly going to have a complete change of heart, and fix the problem.?

Come on now, let's hear you say it: out of the EU we will solve the problem of poverty in this country.

And accuracy too a 50 cal that misses anything substantial/ or ricochets will travel a long way with enough energy to do a lot of damage.
The 5.56 is much easier to control and hit with in a panicked state. And after window and thin steel combo will still hurt but for much reduced range.
Look at the hit pattern on the front of the truck for accuracy estimates.
That's very true,a well trained gunner who can put down tight groupings even under extreme stress would take a truck out with a very few rounds from a 50, rather than the many more low calibre shots, but there would be collateral damage and I imagine it would be pretty awful to live with. I saw the colander on the front of the truck, it's quite astonishing, either gendarmes not hitting him with 9mm for some time or he wore body armour. This I promise last comment re this(we should start a new thread "using 50 Cal on boulevard d'anglais")

OG it's clear to me that even if the conservatives achieved 100% employment and everybody was getting rich you would still find something to criticise. Meanwhile Corbyn continues to tear the labour party apart giving them absolutely no chance of power until another Blair comes along (god help us ). We will never solve the problem of poverty in this country and neither will the EU in Europe

The Conservatives are likely to achieve 100% employment and 99% in poverty too, and you voted for that by voting Brexit didn't you?
We have no chance now of it ever coming down, have we? as the Wages will continue to fall and terms of employment worsen, and welfare payments disappear.
Well done.
