Uberbike claim the finned pads can be 55 degrees lower than standard pads.
The fins look like the heat sinks we put on high wattage components in T.V's videos and microwave ovens. There was a high failure rate on components if
the heat sink was not attached and greased properly, so it did work to dissipate heat on them. Theory stacks up for me anyway.

These pads fit a multitude of callipers which use this generic BS01 style and work out at £1.49 a pair. Haven't tried them out yet as still using older stock.
Unlike a lot of pads that just turn up in small placcy bag these came packaged individual as a pair on a 4" x 3" card and a plastic covering, springs came in a separate bag & no split pins.
I like the idea of not spending money but brakes are one of those things that will only fail when you need them most so I don't like the idea of economising here, and £1.49 Sounds just too cheap to me.

My last set of pads (4 pairs) were £1.01 a pair, they worked very well and were as good as the £3.50 a pair I was paying. China direct cuts out the middle men.

I ordered a set of those and they arrived today just as you've described so probably the same ones. Will let you know how good they are in a year or so when I need to change them.
10 packs like this with a seperate pack of spring things @ £1.49 per pack

In a YEAR? Slightly optimistic or tongue in cheek?

I destroyed the original pads in the Lekky Trekky in under 100 miles...

I think Cannock in the slop was expecting too much of them.
