One can never be too careful, any location technology is potentially dangerous. Even when using Sanoodi long ago to display my various rides, I was careful to make the start point a junction half a mile away from my home. My pedelecs members map entry shows me living on a golf course by a green.

I do use ride trackers but I ensure the ride doesn't start or end until I'm 400m from my house and the same at the other end (usually work).

Just common sense.

Same with facebook - one of my friends posted "last day at work then off with the family for a weeks holiday to Spain". Grats on advertising you house will be unoccupied for a whole week!

It wasn't clubs, they had a six wheel golf course mini-truck stolen from their warehouse. It was driven into a nearby nature reserve and belted around there for a while before being burnt out. Still, it was a Fuji Leisure golf course at the time, so by Japanese standards that wasn't much of a disaster.
